bkkdude: learn to read and write and maybe people will care what you think. Until then, piss off. When you're writing like a ******ed 7 year old you're no help to anybody and there's plenty of people in this thread who can answer questions honestly and correctly. You're not friends with anyone who posts here and you sound like a person whom nobody would ever, EVER want to hang out with (so why the hell would we want to take your advice?).

In short, you should know when you're not wanted and just leave already.

what bkkdude has to say is valid and often he is correct. denouncing what he says because of spelling, grammar, writing style, etc is ridiculous and shows you can't make a valid criticism of him. this is a message board, the queen's english is not required.

Most of what bkk_dude posts is negative and flat out wrong. Why do you think so many people here constantly disagree with him and wish he would just go away? As for his writing style, that just adds more validity to most peoples opinions that he's either a clueless monkey or somewhat amusing troll. Either way, his opinions should not be taken seriously. Again, his writing style is not what makes people dislike him. clickingbuttons grammer is far less comprehensible than bkk_dudes and everyone loves cb.

I just dont see the point of paying double/triple the market rate for anything. I'd rather spend my money on entertainment.

Being taken for ride isn't a badge of honor, it just means you're stupid.

In my experience the internet through TT&T (maxnet) is good...so just ask a few places what company they go through.

It's really that most places use TOT for internet because they own most of the telephone lines already, and people like to keep it on the same bill. And TOT's internet is rubbish.

That said Im currently in Samui playing on a TOT connection and haven't had it drop out once in a week (it hasn't rained).

The key is to find a lan you can physically plug into, rather than WiFi which is terrible and risky for poker.

Use speedtest.net and run a download test, it will tell you what ISP the connection is through (and the speed).

I agree with ydraw. it doesnt matter how much money you make it is really stupid to pay for overprice stuff just because you can or whatever reason. i am not the person to say what it tells about people like that though. and no, i am not talking about that house, just in general. i have no clue about condos/houses in bkk.

i agree with ydraw about interwebs too. always make sure the place has TT&T and not TOT when looking for new place. I have been on TT&T now for 9 months and never had any problems. obviously better than enough for poker.

puyingmakmak who are you? how long have you stayed in thailand and not found a good enough internet for poker ?

agree 100%.

most people come to thailand because of the weather, girls and cost of living. i'm sure bkkdude is the same way. most people posting on a poker forum are willing to spend about the same amount as they do in their home country because their quality of life improves so much. aside from a few people that crush the hs games, no one here is really a 'baller' - that term is used more in jest and i'd be very surprised if anyone was pathetic enough to use it seriously.

so it only comes down to perspective. the young poker players on this forum are willing to spend a lot money to have as much fun as possible during their stay. it seems like bkkdude is here to limit his monthly expenses and enjoy the nightlife to some extent, which is fine. but his general attitude reeks of jealously when he constantly criticizes the majority of the forum and his posts, in general, do not offer any good advice for the general audience of the forum. he should just go back to thaivisa where people there can relate to whatever the **** he goes on about.

Hey Lessu,

Yeah overpaying much for something in general is dumb. It's not the same as paying say x for an apt at home and then instead of living in the same conditions in thailand for x/2, upgrading for a place that's worth double in thai.

Also, a lot of poker players just don't want to deal with the hassle of living out of a hotel for a week as they do some serious apartment hunting/negotiating. Most would rather just get a place ASAP even if there's the chance that they pay a small markup. In fact, this may be even more profitable because of the hours they lose when compared to the hours lost that could have been spent grinding.

I think far too many posts are wasted on bkkdude's account. Sometimes what he says has inklings of truth and sometimes it's complete bull****. Every time it's written poorly and very often in poor taste. Also, LOL @ the Queen's English comment. There are many, many steps in between "Queen's English" and the English that bkkdude chooses to use. His choice is clearly not just a few steps below. Everybody really just needs to ignore him.

he comes from a different perspective is all. it's hard to see that when you're a early 20-something poker player with entitlement issues and delusions of grandeur.
