Kevin Song Eliminated in 12th Place ($72,617)
http://www.pokernews.com/live-report...-wsop/event-2/

Robert Tepper raised to 37,000 from the cutoff and it folded around to Kevin Song in the big blind who three-bet to 105,000. Tepper responded by moving all in and Song called for his last 215,000.

Tepper: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}
Song: {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The two were racing for Song's tournament life heading to the community cards. The board fell down {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}, counterfeiting Song's pocket deuces and allowing Tepper's sevens and fives with an ace-high to finish as the best hand. Song was eliminated in 12th place for $72,617.

I played @ WH last saturday, had a drink in my hand, straddled, played big pots, and I saw the "pro's" eyes light up, that was a good feeling

They have plo tuesdays and Fridays now, but it looks like the biggest game is 2/5 uncapped (for nl)

I went to an Olleh store - you have to go to one actually owned by Olleh and not one that's licensed or franchised - how you check I dunno, but there's one @ Gangnam Station Exit 1 - if you exit and go straight you can't miss it, it's on ur right hand side in 1 or 2 blocks

Bring your passport, your unlocked phone, and they will give you a plan. They have someone who can speak English. Unfortunately you can only get Data by the month - I have to go back on the 29th to renew my sim for another month. Total cost was like $30 or 40 for 1gb Data. You must pay in cash, not card.

Poker players beware...the Daegu Casino Poker Room has repeatedly been observed taking huge rakes from pots, over the course of it's existence by many players. They claim a max of 15,000 a pot (big, but not unusual really) but in fact have been noted to take 40-50,000 for a good-sized pot and even up to 90,000won from a single large pot. And the boss(owner it is said) of the operation has repeatedly lied about it and even become borderline violent when people have questioned him over it. Anyways, although many people already are aware of it (and, in fact, few English teachers or US Military guys come in there any more.....) please tell anyone who might be interested about it. This is indeed dishonest, criminal behavior, and it sucks the life out of the game, and the money out of every players pocket. Sad.

Repost from FB post.
been there and noticed it too. it was like 2 yrs ago, anyone know how this room runs now??

For those in Jeju or looking to play bigger

Jeju Grand Paradise Casino is hosting a 1 week poker room. (there isnt enough traffic to run a room year round since only foreigners can enter)

6/17-6/24
5-10 -> 20/40 USD

A poker club from China is bringing 75-100 players for the week to play cash games.

Action will be crazy as it will be a higher than usual variance game

Those interested can get Rake back (10 usd/hr +) PM for details
Rake will be 10% to 30 /40/50
yes the rake is high. WH/7luck rake 20/30 in 5/10 games + , but action will be big

Players are bad for the most part with some good players.

Rake is awful, players talk in chinese during the hands (and actually advise the player involved against the foreigner) without any problem. The games are really slow and dealers only speak chinese.

I have been there before and sure most players are bad, but the conditions there are terrible, with lots of smoking at the tables, slowrolls,..

I wont go this time, so im not trying to protect the games or whatever.

10% rake is bad, but the $50 cap/hand makes it a lot worse imo.

Anyway, heard you played being super drunk in walker hill. Too bad i wasnt in seoul at that time, would have enjoyed meeting you for some soju action. Until when will you be in Korea?

lol wow, who'd you hear that from?

and yeah, was pounding drinks...my friend wanted to see me play live poker so I had to down some drinks to make it fun :P

Pretty funny too, soon as I sat down, one Japanese reg was being super accommodating thinking I was a rich fish trying to show off infront of my girlfriend.

I also snap noticed this other reg, a Korean girl, her eyes lit up super big when she saw that I was also straddling utg and straddling the btn, raising and playing big pots right off the bat. I made a mental note of that and stacked her

Unfortunately my friend made chit chat w/the japanese guys at the table and told them that I'm a pro...but oddly enough that scared them even more, one guy even flatcalled AA vs my raise!

The bald headed boss guy running the "poker room" was kind of a dick. He kept picking on my friend for doing this and that even though no one at the table cared.

Coming from someone who won one of his biggest pot this year with 85s, you really don't have to justify your play

misunderstood rake

but paying $50/hand almost every time is still pretty insane...

I don't wanna leave seoul on thurs-sat but if u think there's a strong chance of a 20/40nl game running on sunday-Tues I'd probably fly out

Iirc it ran on saturday night and sunday afternoon but most people playing are on vacation, so it doesnt matter.much.

Game there is played in USD. Whatever currency you bring, you ll be able to change it to USD and play with that. The rate they will offer you is ****ty, but ask for a receipt and they will use the same rate to cash out your chips.

Pm me if you need anything else!
