hey guys, what live games can I expect during APPT ? I didn't win the ticket but I'm a cash player anyways, so I might visit Seoul with my friends and play some cash games. I'd be interested in 2/5 - 10/20 games (in USD), do you think they'll be available during the event? How about things such as rake/field, would you consider the games rather soft or tough? Is rake high or super-high?

edit: and what types of games can I expect? NLHE only or sth like PLO/mixed as well ?

Not sure if any increase in the cash games during the appt, but the normal 1/2 2/5 game is 10% rake capped at 15 for 1/2 game, not sure what cap is for 2/5.

APPT schedule:

http://www.appt.com/tournaments/seoul/

Edir: just read on wh fb site that plo cash game is on Tuesday nights. https://www.facebook.com/pages/WALKE...R/191861220577

During the APPT, there will be 5/10 for sure. I'd expect some 10/20 during APPT but I wouldnt count on it being a game that runs often.

PLO is always available as long as there enough players. 2 Years ago there was a crazy PLO game there where this Indonesian Prince or something was there and dumped a ton on the table. They straddled around the table and 8 players were all in Pre lol

The field will prob be in the 250 range. There will be a mix of skill, but probably a weaker than a typical Macau event.

I'll be there for appt between 1st and 7th of April. With 2 friends of mine, also poker players. How about we organise some 2p2 meet-up? I think during appt is the best time for it, coz it's likely gonna be the time of the year when the most poker players visit this city ;d

With "decent" I mean a clean and safe zone, with the european comfort standards.

Thank you in advance.

I could also accept the possibility of living with someone (like student houses or something similiar)

Thank you in advance

If you want to live really cheap they have GOSHIWON's which are about 4-500,000 a month and basically its like a dorm with tiny rooms.

If I were you I would look to rent a room in the Haebongchon area where you can get short term housing and just rent a shared room. Which would be 350-600,000 with no security deposit
I have to thank you guys.

The request was for my sister that was leaving for seoul.

She lived in seoul for 50 days 1 year ago in a Universitary Campus and now she had to stay 3 months and had to find an apartment.

She found a nice Goshiwon as you suggested, and she's feeling good right now.

So I have to thank you.

need help depositing money into PS from Korea. i recently transferred my PS account from the US to Korea, but it seems like Neteller is rejecting my Korean VISA card. I use KEB.

if anyone is willing to transfer some to my PS account, I can pay via my Korean bank transfer or Paypal for those who have it.

This pic was posted on WH's FB page:

Playing poker in the dark with lanterns during annual power safely maintenance. Entire casino was closed except the poker room.

I thought this was a joke but heard from another player that this was for real,. No worries about seeing neighbors cards when you can hardly see your own.

I'm going back to Seoul for a few months, and my GF is setting up an apartment for me. She's kinda busto tho, so I need to send her money for rent + deposit (not key money).

She says there's no personal checks in Korea, so they probably wouldn't take on I write to her. Any idea's of how to get her money without getting boned hard on fees?

thanks!

I sent a cashiers check from my usa bank to Korea with Keb but it took 30 days to clear. Might be able to do transfer if you can get all the information. Routing number and all that jazz.

Western Union works fine. I also have no problem sending money from here directly to my bank account in Australia so I would imagine the reverse is just as easy.

Has anyone tried to deposit on stars from Korea is the last week or two. I just ran into a friend who says when he tries to deposit in the cashier now he gets the Korean blocked site logo popping up in the cashier window.

Pursuant to the above I came home and tried to do a test deposit.

When I clicked fast deposit in the cashier I got a pop up saying there was a problem and then the deposit button just vanished. Restarted Stars and the button is still gone. This is all very interesting and slightly worrying.

Yeah, playing is no issue. I play everyday. It's just the deposit function that seems to have been blocked. Anyway, if you re-read my post you'll see what I'm taking about.

Jeff Holbrook is the chip leader with 24 left in the APPT ME.

I hope he wins the 185,000,000 Korean won 1st place prize.

Just read that Jeff is a trumpet player for Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. He should play some Chuck Mangione "Feels so Good" right there in the poker room if he wins this!
