You mean Walker Hill? It seems very interesting event, but I can't buy in because I am a real korean of no entering priviledge.

If you are playing that game, i wish you good luck!

Where do you play then, since most Casinos are off limits for you? Do you go to Cebu to play or online or both or somewhere else? Homegames running that are foreigner friendly that you know of?

I have heard some guys enter there in unusual ways. I don't want to do that because it's a big trouble to me in case I get caught. I am a real coward, 'sae-ga-seum' in korean, lol

I wouldn't say being a coward. Staying out of jail or getting fined has made me do somethings here. What games do you play?

Do many of your Korean friends play poker?

Do you talk to your friends and family about it? What is their opinion about poker?

I'm just curious.

There are only few around me.
Because we have been under Confucian culture for six hundred years since Joseon and gambling is illegal currently, it is hard to talk freely our poker playing to even our acquaintances. I guess that poker players in other east asian countries like China, Japan are under similar circumstances.

I bet not. Japanese and Chinese love gambling.

We all love gambling.

For me, I had played blackjack for many years as a card counter, and currently play poker online. I have never talked my playing to my family and friends.

I know we east asians tend to care much to our reputation by others. It's called 'che myeon' in korean, face in english I guess. This is our social mood.

So, so many koreans enjoy online games like 'go stop' and talk freely dong this to their friends, but I guess they have difficulties talking publicly to their acquaintances that they play casino games like blackjack, baccarat, or poker as a profession, semi profession, or even just hobby.

I think this mood is very similar in china and japan. In japan, it may be different because japan was affected by western culture so early.

I've lived in Korea for 7 years now and most of it was on Jeju Island. Tons of my friends have taught in China, Korean, Japan and Thailand plus some have moved to Phil.
IMO Japanese and Chinese are pretty open about gambling. In Korea, I think that it's something people do but it's not in the open. I was told to face away from Koreans gambling one night while eating dinner.
I posted on a website trying to sell a poker book and got called into the office and told the dangers of gambling by my boss. Never talked about poker again.

One does not need to brag about degening to love gambling. The two can be mutually exclusive.

I think you're taking a about "짞" or pronounce "jjack". I don't know any in itaewon but I've been to a few in gangnam. they're actually pretty fun. how it works is you go with a few of your guy friends and you tell thewaiter (or you can simply go yourself) to bring you a group of girls you saw at some other booth. the booths are clear so you should be able to take a stroll around and see what you like. you'd be surprised, a lot of girls actually come knocking on your booth inviting themselves over for a drink/play drinking games etc.

what you don't want to do is go with a group of guys and girls, then basically no girls are going to want to come over/ is usually a sign of your group being occupied. you sortve have to have a bro team oriented mentality lol.i swear there is always 1-2 super hot ones and the others are busto, and unless you're super boss status, it's hard to just kick the fat chick out.

i should grow some balls and just do it lol

If you're into women 25-35 Itaewon 2dong is hot imo. A few of the places are absolute holes in the wall but there are a lot of women in pairs and trios. Probably over half smoking openly. I'm a little bit old for main Itaewon these days and have been with a regular for several months now who is

I can't emphasize in person game enough. Facebook meetups are a good place to get your feet wet. Make a few friends. Get set up in a few networks. Supplement online. After 6 weeks of effort if you have any game you should never be hurting for a few dates a week.
