there is really no community of grinders in korea tbh. like, literally i never met anyone else that was just playing poker. i talked to jjykk on skype a few times that prob doesn't count tho lol. he lives in seoul. actually i did meet a guy who was grinding live while his gf studied i don't think he was there the full year and i only just saw him at walker a few times.

as a foreign poker player you will be an outsider since every other foreigner is a teacher or a soldier and they're already on the outside of society as foreigners so you're outside the outside group since you don't share that job with them.

whenever i see someone sitting from south korea i assume they're a fish. it's also not the easiest place for withdrawing/depositing if you want somewhere just to chill and play poker.

In regards to the love motels in Seoul I am confused, isn't kinda weird if you stay there on your own with out a girl ? do foreign travellers do this?

Doing anything on your own in Korea is weird. Koreans think someone eating alone means they are crazy... So just ignore whatever they think and walk in and book it, or you can book online

Does Walkerhill still spread poker games recent days ? I went a few years ago and they charged some ridiculous rakes.

Sup guys, I used to post in this thread like 18 months ago. I'm now jobless again and trying to find a job is demoralizing and ****ty. I'm 27, will be a CPA in the next month or so, but due to me having a ****ty work history, it probably won't help me land a job. I'm Korean American and know some Korean, but would like to be more fluent. Part of the reason I'd like to go to Korean and teach English is to play on Stars/euro sites again. Anyways, I'm starting the process to apply for EPIK, don't really wanna deal with elementary school kids.

I'll probably be a fish out of water since I don't drink any alcohol nor do I like to club/party. Finding girls will be hard if I go there.

Drinking alcohol is also a requirement if you want to make friends in Korea.

Potentially moving to s. korea to teach english (from U.S.). Curious how deposit/withdrawal would work from poker stars. It would be a side thing, but I'd love to be able to play again. I understand that you have a bank account setup for you by your employer when you move over there? Would it be possible to deposit via that bank account, or is that impossible? Does it matter that I'm still a U.S. citizen? Also, are there live games in south korea?

Contact stars support directly and explain your status to them. They will obviously want to help you deposit and get funds on there.

There are live games in Seoul casinos. Also closed door games all over Korea.

Do you feel much of a sense of danger or concern in the city at the moment due to this going on?

if it was really that dangerous the US Army wouldn't be having their soldiers bring their children over here to live permanently. that tells you all you need to know.

4-6k for a 1br? that sounds crazy. What does 4-6k get exactly? Is everyone just a baller in Seoul? Whats the average education/ work experience/ age? What kinda of common job can afford the avg Korean to spend 4-6k a month on rent alone? Is everyone just loaded?
