I'll be living/working in the Apgujeong area for the next 2 years. I have a few contacts but I'm definitely looking for cool ppl to chill/drink/exercise (bball and lifting) so PM me if you're around. I'm 22 but will be 23 in a few weeks.

Also, would anyone be down to go to World DJ Fest on the May 6-8 weekend? I know techno doesn't get the most love around here but it looks pretty sick. Outdoor music events ftw. Probably for one day. PM me if you'd wanna go and we can chat on aim or w/e.

peace guys. or ANNYANGHEKASAYO as my podcast Korean lessons tell me
Apgujeong is awesome. Very wealthy area and the women are effing gorgeous. You will feel like you've moved to a place where 80% of the women are on their way to a photo shoot most hours of the day. I'm very jealous of you right now.

oh, and 900rd

What are the options for short term (1-2 month) serviced apartments? Looking for something in a good area, 1 bedroom for no more than like $2k/mo.

welcome, you're going to have a blast
what will you be doing and how long will you be out there?
I'll be teaching SAT/AP prep. It's a 2-year contract so for at least that period of time.

Awesome. I've read good things about it and it's only better hearing it first-hand.

900rd?

it's because apgujeong is where all the plastic surgery happens. not saying it's a bad thing (actually i like it).

Yeah, I always joked that narrating my walks around Apgu was like, "Starbucks. Plastic Surgeon. Bank. Coffee Bean. Starbucks. Plastic Surgeon. Hotel. Plastic Surgeon. Starbucks."

Also had a lot of successful dates at Castle Praha which I'm pretty sure was around there. Either there or Gangnam Station.

haha that is apgu for you. never been to castle praha. i didn't hang around apgujeong often. i went on some good dates in rodeo in sinsa.

still prefer gangnam, hongdae or sinchon. it's just a better atmosphere for partying imo.

@Bruin - sometimes I don't like plastic surgery when it looks ridiculously fake and botched, but korean women seem to pull it off well.

There are a few places like that and you should be able to find something in that range. Is there a location you want to be in? Seoul is a pretty huge place and it is a pain to get around during the day if you are not on a subway line or near where you want to be.

I've been to Seoul once before and I think I'd prefer to be in Apgujeong (sp?) or Gangnam. I'd like to be within 5 minutes walk to lots of lunch and dinner options (Korean and Western), and a short taxi ride away from good nightlife.

Def Apgu or Gangnam, I'm also interested in renting something like that in summer

Check out Shinchon and Hongdae too. Those areas might not be quite as expensive but still fill your requirements.

Yeah, I think I might be interested in Hongdae as well. Just looking for a nice serviced apartment 1-2 bedrooms in the $1.5k-4k range. If anyone knows specific ones please post. Thanks for the help so far.

Syous, I'm thinking about going for just one month (August or September) but hit me up on msn.

Anyone update me where the good booking/nightclubs are in gangnam? It seems like the old ones I'm familiar with are closed down.

Any other recommendations on where the hot chicks congregate these day
would be appreciated .

I have a question about love motels. Can you recommend any in sinchon/hongdae?

I've been going to lexy hotel in sinchon but honestly I dont need a big fat tv, computer, expensive speakers, xbox or things like that... on the other hand i dont want bad interior quality or old, smelly room. I just want good value without redundant stuff. I havent been anywhere else except lexy so far.

I'd appreciate!

So if I have a Korean bank account can I play on PartyPoker or any other euro sites? I know poker is not allowed for Korean citizens but apparently it's ok for foreigners. Just got my debit card today but I'm wondering if any of you guys out here from the US are able to play on euro sites.

I think you need a VPN for sites in Korea except for Stars.
