Rip. Time to move to the land with frequent earthquakes, Japan.
I truly hope the pros in South Korea who depend on PS for their livelihood are preparing for this. If you can't share a link with the forum, maybe you could pm YugiohPro to give him a headsup?

For those who don't know, YugiohPro has been on a tear, recently getting a triple crown at P5s and is currently ranked 109th worldwide.

A bit late to the party to rehash this but I discussed it unsolicited with more than one CET pit employee. General anecdotal consensus is that it's a development placeholder for a new law. At least that's what the Vegas guys are admittedly gossiping.

Sorry Newbie writing again.. I'm having the hardest time trying to deposit money into my Pokerstars account. Skrill and Neteller I can't because my bank Shinhan won't let me use my debit card for gaming purposes. Wire transfer I'm having a difficult time.. I get stuck some where transferring money to Skrill using online banking. Not a big gambler just want to use my spare time learning how to play poker. Anyone playing Pokerstars in South Korea right now that can help me or any other suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is there anything online about this? (I haven't found anything doing google searches)

OT, American friend first time in Korea buying a can of soda, says WTF? Why are these cans of soda so damn small? Korean friend reply: Because Koreans are smaller people, lol. My reply: Its because Korean companies are smart, they want you to buy two or more!

Not online. I heard this from a friend of mine working for the Ministry of Justice. The new law will be in effect as I said. This happened due to the recent crackdown of an underground game.

Thanks AguaPorFavor. Maybe we can start a petition for the gov to leave Pokerstars alone, lol.

Some belated good news:

Congrats to UrbanLights for binking last Sunday's The Bigger $162, for a sweet $29k.

Wishing you continued success in 2016!

I don't know the SK numbers, but the recreational players here have to be such a small minority, and the pros definitely a tiny number.

There were only 64 players from SK in the last Chromestar+ freeroll. Take the foreigners and dual citizens out of this number and that will leave an even smaller number of locals playing.

Yeah, you're right, plus all the cash players that don't play tourneys.

Its impossible for us to know how many people are playing on stars from SK, and of this number how many are actually South Koreans (non-dual status), since foreigners can sign up here using their South Korean address. Even if we had a list of all the unique ps sn's with the SK flag, we still wouldn't know the true number, as some are playing from abroad. And then there are also foreigners playing here that have their own home countries flag, of course.

I guess if we end up having a Black Friday, anyone having an SK flag and playing abroad would have to change their account addresses and get the flag of whatever country they are residing in?

So here is the dumb newbie writing again asking for help. Still stuck ...trying to make a deposit to Skrill or Neteller. Any help would be greatly appreciated. There must be someone here in South Korea playing poker online ^^. Thank you in advance.
PS. If I transfer it as non gaming, will I be able to deposit into Pokerstars?... This might be a dumb question but I thought I would ask.

^^
That was a good option when they had tourneys running til they stopped in April of last year. A lot of those players stopped going to WH. But hopefully those players will be back when they start back up again next week, on May 7th (hopefully).

Most of the guys online don't want to deal with small amounts, they want to deal in 4 figures or more. And then there is the issue of dealing with strangers. Even at WH, some players don't even want to tell anyone their pokerstars screen names, lol.

I would still try and ask around though.

OT: I didn't know I receieved 5 promotional $1 Spin-go tickets. Anyone else get it? I also did the scratch and match and won a ticket for a $500 freeroll for 0630 tomorrow morning. I'm a baller now, lol.

EDIT: Just read the spam email. It was for my birthday earlier this month.

Non-gaming deposits will not be usable for Pokerstars.

How much do you want to deposit onto Pokerstars?
