Walker Hill does have a lot of regs. Same people show up every single week.

I play mostly online, but is it normal for dealers to take all your white chips when you cash out? One of the dealers not currently dealing, took my white chips and gave them to the working dealer's box before I could even react.

I'm not tilted because it was only 4,000 won... it's just the principle that she didn't even ask me! She just straight up jacked my white chips with no response. Never had that happen before, but I was dumbfounded. I just left without questioning it because I'm done with that place. I tip regularly and felt like they were shoving a rod up my *** with that final gesture when I cashed out.

Oh well! Unless the tables start to magically end up with 5-8 whales per table, I'm done going to Walker Hill. Just feels like a waste of a trip.

I play at WH often, and they are the best dealers in korea. (Although they may not be better than your local poker room, its the truth for Korea). They do not need to steal your 4,000 for their tips. There are cameras on the table and any footage can be brought up instantly. And if they put them in the chip rack on the table they most likely changed your chip to a 5,000 - its possible maybe she forgot to give you one. Are you sure they didnt color you up? When you cash out I know you did not take a rack of green chips to the cage. It is likely they changed it in to a 5,000 chip. I'm not sure why you would not say anything either. It does not do you, customers or the poker room any service, if this did go down.

I didn't say anything because it was only 4,000 won and I didn't want to slow down the next hand that was being dealt. Like I said in my previous post the whole action went by so quick that I was dumbfounded at what just happened. I have played there several times and this is the first time they done this to me.

I didn't get a color up. Just straight up took my remaining 4 white chips and threw them in the dealer's rack in one quick motion. I was trying to rack up my own chips, but she insisted on handling my stack. I had all green chips and some blue 100k chips.

I mean it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Just wanted to give you all a heads up when you're cashing out to just be aware of them trying to auto tip your remaining whites.

Overall though the dealers are great. They handle the game flow very smoothly and rarely turn over cards while dealing.

It's all good though I'm moving to Colorado in January so probably will not be back at WH anytime soon unless I swing by on vacation or something. From 200-500 BB stacks to 20-100 stacks with $100 max bets... *sigh*

Huck Seed was at WH a few days ago. No one knew who he was. I had to show the floor guys his pic on google. Only stuck around for like 30 minutes though. Weird.

Just thought it was time for an update on the Daegu Casino poker room. In other words, I'm pissed off again about it, of course.

Let's see...according their website, at the URL emblazoned right across the felt of their tables, they offer two daily promotions, the "early bird" buy-in bonus and the daily "best hand prize".

No, they don't offer those "this month" or some ****. Those broads can't speak English anyways, so I'm not sure exactly what they were telling me...

Without the early bird bonus, nobody shows up at the opening time like they used to. This led to me waiting 4 hours to play the other day. I guess I enjoyed chatting with the kind of cute dealers and drinking cokes and getting some free food just enough to wait...but of course they assured me that 3 or 4 people had called and were "on their way" several times too...uh huh. :-/

The two beer maximum is still in force...no matter how long you play, you can only have two.

Oh, did I mention they, again, despite the website information (yes, the one right on the ****ing tables) the game is now 1-3 instead of 1-2. If that game didn't play big enough already, it surely does now!

While not as bad as in years past, it is still DONK-CITY down there, with people shoving left and right.

Oh, and despite the no-smoking rule, players were still smoking in the poker room...away from the table at least, but still...no one gives a ****, I guess.

The bad beat (currently at over 16m if you care) now has a "tax rate" of 22% deducted from the pot....WTF? I know exactly who that taxman is, and he's the old bastard that runs the room! 22% is deducted when it hits, so really that 16m is only what 12m? As if the rake wasn't high enough already.

Oh, and among the regs (most of who I've seen there before) there are about 5 languages being spoken at the table, during the hands even...who knows what the **** they are talking about but you quickly notice who's playing hands against whom, that's for sure...

So, in short, it remains a bad place to play.

Yeah it is beatable. Lots of tourists and some rich donks come in on a regular basis. The time to avoid is weekday days when, after a few hours of money getting passed around the table, everyone is stuck because of the rake. But most nights and weekends see enough average to bad players keeping the alligator well-fed, in my experience.

You will see some horrendous play at Walker Hill, no question about it, and you will see people actually using a card (that they give out) that tells the hand rankings....yes, *those* hand rankings! lmao... I've seen that a number of times. And you get bejewelled, beGuccied, even befurred women playing that, well, you can imagine.

Whatever you do, don't forget what Dolly had to say about playing against such people...you know "pickaxe and shovel" only...they will call you down with 4th pair quite often, and they will not even consider things like scare cards. I've lost many pots to weak one pair hands when trying to bluff. I suppose I don't need to tell you that, but it particularly applies in this case. Even the guys who "seem like" pros...they may look the part but a lot of them kind of suck too.

I expect 70-80% of table games to be Baccarat. Poker will be like 10 tables max according to the info I have from this Japanese guy I met at WH, who introduced to me as an executive of Sega Sammy. Sega Sammy as you might know is the partner company with Paradise for the Incheon project.

Was wrong about construction not being started. Went to the buffet at Hyatt on Fri, right behind it a major building is already finished. Will see if I can snap some pics next time I pass by.
