On another note, I might be going to the Walker Hill casino on Saturday. I'm volunteering for the Air Force Ball so I thought why not stop by the casino prior to going to the Sheraton Hotel event.
So I went to Walker Hill... just want to say sorry to whoever was at my table. I'm SO BAD haha! Was my first time playing in a casino (I'm an online poker nerd). I kept trying to raise to 3,000 thinking I was playing 500/1000W NL or something when the minimum was 4,000. I kept trying to raise not realizing that someone had straddled beforehand. It was hard as **** for me to hear the dealer though and it seems like those ninja straddles keep coming out of nowhere.
I also hid my cards on accident. It wasn't a poker angle just a bad rookie mistake. I had KJ of clubs and the flop was Kx8cc and I tried to bet IP in a big family pot, but I couldn't bet because my cards were hidden and dealer didn't even realize I was in the pot. I took it down on the turn paired 8, but I can definitely see people thinking I'm trying to angle them with hidden cards.
Online and live is so much friggin different. I've only played live one other time for play money at some coworkers house where the dude hosting the event thought straights beat flushes *facepalm*
My bet sizing live was random as ****. I think it was the nerves, because sometimes my hand was shaking whether I had air or strong hands. I didn't think my hands through, I just threw out some chips regardless of what the pot contained.
Amazingly I managed to walk out losing only 5,000 won. (That's after getting raked to hell and back and all the tips for won pots)
Overall: I had a blast at the casino. It was definitely a fun time. The highlight was when we thought the dealer said "Are you fish?" when some dude busted out with a horrible call. She was like "Oh I'm sorry, I said are you finished?" Was hilarious!
