yea, wbn.

looks like i may be spending november in seoul instead of thailand. got a decent room in HBC for mad cheap and it's not far to coex. going to play like 40 hours straight to recover from my internet poker withdrawal

Anyone of you live in a goshiwon? I was told by someone here who lives in Seoul that you can rent one for $300-$600 everything included.

By the way, do you have to be a student to rent a goshiwon? I checked it online and i see its for students. I graduated college a couple of years ago already so i won't be a student. Would that be a problem? Because if i could get a room for $600 included everything, i would definitely choose Seoul over Thailand since i feel like Seoul is more like a big city in the U.S than thailand.

from my understanding, goshiwon's are similar to jail cells. If you can touch both walls at the same time, its probably going to be a bit too small.

poker coming back to COEX on the 24th of november? Whats the rake like there again? Ill be in asia for chinese new years

Yea a goshiwon is like a prison cell it's just a temp place to live. You'd have to be insane IMO to choose Seoul over Thailand to grind.

No October 24. Dunno about rake but it will probably be really high.

Man, I'm a Korean American much like the op. I live in orange county, CA. I already have a degree but having trouble finding a permanent full time job. I'm thinking about teaching english for 6 months when my temp job runs out. I'm planning to grind poker on the side maybe 20 hrs a week, playing 35+3 turbo stt or even the juicy micro-mid stake mtts. Are there a lot of options in regards to food. I don't eat banchan or vegetables or noodles. I just like to eat meat and rice. Also I don't drink alcohol and dislike clubs/bars so I probably will be staying home a lot as well if i'm not visiting family.

I've been teaching out here for about 9 months now (crazy to think that my first contract is coming to an end) if any of you guys looking to teach have questions.

Also, I wouldn't mind to meet up with some other players. None of my friends out here play much poker.

Hey djz, I'm in Uiwang (specifically Naeson Dong). It's about 45 minutes south of Seoul but I can get to Gangnam and certain parts in about 30 minutes. I really like the area actually. Where are you located?

i'm grinding at the coex/walker hill 5+ days a week (part-time job ftw), down to talk strat/chill/go booking. poker is my main source of income right now so trying to be very serious about it and beat the hell out of coex and walker for as much as i can. i just PMed you guys my number, hit me up when you go the casino and we'll grab a beer or something. i live in sinsa-dong btw. who else is in korea???

i'm in HBC near itaewon, i pretty much only play online though i play live on weekends/friday night. poker is my only source of income (ft job FTW).

i'll probably play at coex tomorrow though omg 20hands an hour may kill myself from boredom.

yea, i was actually just going to post the same question. haven't cashed out yet but i'd like to know the best way.

anyone have experience with this?
