Do you know about the legal implications of playing on unregulated sites or apps from Portugal. Let's take IPoker or Pokerbros for example. Can you get fined? Can you keep your winnings if caught?

you can get fined.
as to keep your winnings i say that it depends more on the poker room and not that much from regulator.

Ok, so I live in Portugal, now for my question:

Where can I find a person(s) to sit at a board with and play backgammon (Gamao).

It is as if the game never existed here. (though I found some strange antique wooden boards.)

I cannot find one club, meetup or business that seems to promote play except for tournaments for international visitors.

I'm looking for neighborhood advice about Lisbon. My partner and I will stay for 2-3 months. We want to stay in a quiet neighborhood with minimal noise from tourists and traffic (at night), not more than 45 minutes away by public transit from the nightlife areas of the city, and not so remote as to require a car or long-waits for buses to get anywhere. Good restaurants and cafes around is a plus, and a good gym within 10 minutes (PT or walk) commute is required.

My budget is around $1700/mo. I figure that's enough for a 2 bedroom? Do most apartments in Lisbon have a separate room for the toilet & shower as is common in other European countries?. Is AirBnB the best option or should I also look at the FB groups (my partner speaks Portuguese which might help)? All advice appreciated, thanks

Look into, cascais, estoril and carcavelos.

Nice neighborhoods near the beach and Lisbon is 15km away with train or car etc.

Thanks. The AirBnB prices in those neighborhoods seem to be similar to the ones in Lisbon, and we prefer proximity to the centre over a beach. I didn't mean to make the noise sound like a big constraint. City living obviously comes with a certain amount of noise. We just want to avoid the touristy and party neighborhoods with extreme noise during the day and night.

Currently living in The Netherlands but I plan to travel to Portugal for about 6 weeks in September. Are you able to play online poker in Portugal as a non resident? If so, which sites are accessible and which cities/places are recommended?

Thanks in advance!
