You don’t need a booster. You just need a negative PCR or Antigen test if you don’t have the booster.

Bit worrying immigration news. Made my 3rd extension in Davao yesterday... They let me do only one month(always before had been able to make two at least(excluding the first extension which has been always one month obv))... They just said that they are monitoring me... Probably they just want to make more money since 2x one month extension is more than just one 2month(mostly because the 'express lane' fees)... I told the officer that i have been here long time allready(which might have been the reason for this monitoring) but no help... Well im still pretty confident that i can make another extension... But yea pretty frustrating if i have to do it every month now(was allready frustrating to do it every two months)

How are the poker games in Manila now, are they still beatable?

Is a mask required everywhere? I'm guessing no more smoking in the casino?

I've been thinking of relocating to Manila, haven't been to PI since before covid. But I miss the Filipinas.

Any info would be very helpful.

How are the live games at Cebu? By brief googling the best bet to find a game seems to be the Waterfront hotel. However, there are Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino and also Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. I assume the Cebu City one is the place to be? Please also let me know if the games run at the Airport hotel too. Anyhow, how often do the games run? Back in the days they seemed to run 24/7 but how is it nowadays? Mostly NLHE or PLO too? Any additional info about the games and casinos are also welcome. Flying through Cebu and spending couple of nights there in October and November and would like to play some cards.

Smoking in casino but not in table afaik.

Masks required everywhere.

Went to play 3 times , last time was the tightest table , before saw chinese gamblers , otherwise.. kinda mediocre and tbh. some of the china guys are regs and talk a lot in chinese , often times during the hands would not be surprised if colluding ...... and they are chewing non stop on some dried fruits / smelly things and coughing on people .

Thanks for the help! I DM’d the Voyager and according to them NLHE runs daily from 4pm. Mostly 25-50 and 50-100 with 10k and 50k max buy-ins and sometimes 100-200 too. Let’s see if I visit them in Oct/Nov.

Was just there around 6pm on a Saturday. Two tables of 25/50 running, but was told 50/100 usually runs later. If you have a local number they will text you when it runs.

Seemed like a nice place and the staff are very friendly, but I’d only go if you’re bored and want to play low/micro stakes. You’re not going to make much money in this room. Also, the area is pretty rough. Wouldn’t want to be walking out of there late at night with a big roll in my pocket.

Has anyone flown into MNL recently from Thailand?

I will be leaving Thailand in about 3-4 weeks and was thinking about going back to Manila, not been there for more than 10 years but not sure how it is with covid?

Thailand feels like it's 90% back to normal but people still wearing masks everywhere. I get the feeling Manila is still strict?

I have 3 vaccines but do they still require negative test before flying and book a quarantine hotel?

A couple of my friends went a few weeks ago. Only thing they had to do was fill out some online health form. Clubs they went to looked pretty packed and normal life. Don't know about normal stuff during the day.

Masks are still mandatory. No need for tests or quarantine if you have taken booster shot.

Great. I think the masks will be in force until at least the end of 2022 as they have prolonged the emergency decree.

Masks rules outdoor binned

+

Rosario Vergeire, a top health official, said a government body dealing with the pandemic would assess if the compulsory wearing of masks indoors could be lifted toward the end of the year in public areas, which could considerably increase the number of people who would receive their coronavirus booster shots.

I quess it is getting harder and harder... I opened BPI and BDO accounts as tourist... But was many years ago and have to visit few different branch to see.... But yea back then was just passport and acr card.
Now i tried to open bdo dollar account(still as tourist, lol)... But was pain in as... While it might have been possible, they had many requirements like regular remittance or some other bs.
SO i think it is still possible... But maybe have to find right branch... And some filipino 'friends' might help

Manila obv. Same in every country, the best looking gals tend to be found in the capitals and major centers where everything is happening and peeps with money are. That being said I think you'll find plenty in the other places too

Has anyone ever been rejected by having too many Philippines stamps in their passport?

I feel like I was close. The guy seemed very reluctant to let me in this time and kept standing up to go somewhere but then eventually let me in.

Not so sure about next time?
Or just being overly paranoid?

Anyone aware of live PLO games in Cebu? I'm online PLO grinder and just looking to click some live buttons once in a blue moon.

And by the way, Cebu immigration office has moved to Robinsons Galleria 3rd floor recently - don't go to J Centre mall like I did today.

I'm gonna be in the Philippines tomorrow, probably stay for 2-3 weeks. Sounds like there's some sort of tournament series going on at Okada from the 3-9th, anyone here gonna be playing in any of those events? Any recs on where to stay? Should I just book one of the many many high rises near Mall of Asia? Thanks

I had quite similar experience in the Voyager, too. I was there on a Monday night in November, and if I remember correctly there was three tables of 25/50 and one table of 50/100. 50/100 seemed to have at least some action but couldn't get a seat at the table. The 25/50 I played for two hours was quite boring. I'm aware that Monday isn't the best possible night and I was there for a short amount of time, but still mostly very nitty and passive regs with very few multiway action. I chatted with a young 25ish local reg who told that it's more or less the same mosts nights, maybe not the weekend.

I don't think the are is that rough, though. I found the Philippines very safe overall and I got a Grab to drop me off and pick me up right at the door.

I would say both of these places has quite bad mobile internet, and I had Smart too. It's consistent, but in a bad way. I didn't play online, but using Netflix and others I found it quite laggy and wouldn't consider it stable enough for online poker. Overall, excluding bigger cities, the mobile internet in most of the Philippines is too inconsistent to play online and it's quite horrible for someone who's used to more stable service.

The Voyager is the only room in Cebu and the reg I talked to there said there's never any PLO, sadly.
