100/200 is not running all the time. RW for example had only 50/100 a couple of days ago.even tho they had enough players on 100/200 and room was crowded.some of the player who were on the list decided to stay st 50/100 so they didn’t open a game.
But you Info might be accurate for at least 50/100.

So if I want to play mostly 50/100, 100/200 my options are Resorts world, Okada and Metro running 24/7
Okada games don't usually start until after noon AFAIK, not sure on how late they run into the evening. Resorts World also has a bit of a dead spot around 3-6 am AFAIK, maybe not on weekends. Metro only has 50/100 starting around 3-6 pm usually, running into the night generally.

If you look using rental websites the place probably won't have internet set up and you'd have to deal with signing contracts which might be a year minimum
How long does it take to get from say Gramercy Residences to the Casino? By what people have said about the traffic, it seems google maps directions is never going to give me a good estimate but I'd like to get somewhat of a decent idea what I'm looking at for travel if I stay in a location away from the casino.

Traffic is ok late at night, I think Dace was living at Knightsbridge residences for a while and going to the casino. Maybe he can say how long it took him. Knightsbridge is next to Gramercy, and Milano residences and Trump tower. All decent places. That's Makati area.

The other area people like is the BGC ('the fort'), e.g. Icon residences, the Forbeswood condos, Trion towers. If you look at google maps there's a road lawton avenue that connects the BGC to resorts world casino. That only takes 10-15 min

Another condo near the casinos is shore residences. So sea/shell/shore/solemare parksuites are 4 options near but there's not much to do in that area except go to the mall of asia in the daytime

I lived in both Gramercy and Milano, took me about 40-60 minutes to get to the casino areas (Okada, RW, Solaire, CoD) in 'peak' time (between 4pm-10pm) and about 15 minutes to get home at dead times like 3am. Grabs were cheap and efficient though, except in the middle of huge storms in wet season when you might wait a while/get cancelled on.

never went to casinos when i lived in makati but now i go often from bgc, if you go before 3pm or after 9pm it takes 25 min to resorts or 30-35 to solaire. In between its 45+ min sometimes more than an hour. Sunday is no traffic day

Where are the games nowadays? Does RW usually have 100/200 or bigger running? Thanks!

Thanks for everyone's input, it helped a lot especially yours Dubnjoy! We are flying to Panglao Island (Bohol) beginning of November. It looks like the ideal place for us! Internet seems to be pretty good there too. Fingers crossed!

Whats my best option to get online money out there? Or should I bring as much usd cash as I can? ATM's are horrible if I remember well.

Thanks again everyone! If any of you lives or lived in Bohol or comes visit, add me on skype: mato.kristof

Your best bet is to bring USD. Exchange rates from USD to PHP are pretty favourable in Philippines, there is a much smaller spread than is common for currency exchange so you don't pay that much juice (less than 1%). This is not the case for other currencies, like the Euro or AUD or whatever.

You will need to look around and test the wifi in different locations before booking it, but yes, you will find reliable - albeit slow - internet there (make sure to test it out though).

The ATM dispenses up to 20k a withdrawal. GL

Anyone living in Baguio City? Visited there in the 90's, really liked the place and thinking about another visit.

2 weeks vacation in the PI, spending all my time in Baguio is the plan.

Nightlife?
Casino/Live Poker?
Hotel Recommendations?
Transportation (last time rode the bus, really didn't feel save on the hilly/curvy roads)?

I went there last Christmas with my GF. Stayed at Citylight Hotel which was fine, breakfast buffet was a big spread and its walking distance to Session Road, the main street. Prices were inflated for the season I think 60-70 usd so it would be cheaper off season as a lot of filipinos Christmas vacation there for the cooler temperatures. Place was very packed.

Didn't do any night life or poker, doesn't seem like that's the place as it got pretty dead at night.

We took Victory liner from Manila. Its safe and the cheapest easiest option, but it is windy as you get closer to or leaving the city with the mountains, after that its not too bad.

I think 2 weeks would be very long. 3 nights and can pretty much see everything.

We did Mines View Observation Deck, Bell House and Amphitheater, The Mansion and Wright Park horse stable are right next to each other. Tree Top Adventure has zip lining but it was closed when we were there. Burnham Park was fine, but not that well taken care of. They have a Christmas Nativity Exhibit up year around I think. Cathedral of Our Lady of Atonement is nice and where we went to Christmas Mass which was packed. Baguio Botanical Garden is alright and next to Pine Country Steak and Waffles which I'd recommend.

Its a nice small place in the mountains worth a visit. If you had 2 weeks you could also see San Fernando and Mount Pulag as both are only a couple hours away. I think they would be fun to explore too.

Any bodog poker players here grinding from the Philippines? To me the software works just deposits and cashouts page says it's blocked from here and when I asked via email they said not available to play from there. So just keen to hear if it's actually allright to grind from here and if there was just lack of knowledge at support / lack of understanding my question.

So, another question: I'm now staying in PH without visa, just on the 30 days you can stay as long as you have a plane ticket out of here. As I understand it you can extend this for another 30 days (maybe longer??) if you go to an immigration office. Does anyone have experience with where you can do this the easiest? Some travel agency or just seek out an actual IMoffice?

Just go there by your own and say you want extend( Img Office in makati).Very easy, no issues at all. At least for Germans.not sure if they are more strict with other countries but it’s hard to imagine in the ph.

SM aura mall in the BGC, or Marquee mall in Angeles city. First time you do it it's 30 days, longer possible on follow up times

Thats very nice but it depends on office and sometimes they change their procedure... Here in Davao you need to give them copy of your passport also(though threre is place to copy just next door), also here you can only get 2months max if you not married to filipino and pay 'express' lane fee(In Manila(intramunos) i got 6months extension earlier(and didn't need to give them any copies) this year and i could have choose 'regular' service which is bit cheaper but slower)

Hi, posted this in another thread but realize I should be posting here instead. I'm going to Manilla in two days time until end of Sept.

Quote:
Couple of questions:

1. I play a bunch on Natural8, but read that online poker is pretty much banned in PH. Is that true for Natural8?

2. I'd read from a couple of sauces that the internet in Manilla is generally pretty shitty and dc-es a bunch. Would it be an option to hotspot it from a SIM card? If so, which (short-term) SIM card should I get?

3. Are there any rooms with 100/200 or 200/400 running throughout the day?

4. I booked a hotel a couple minutes walk from RW. Where's the nearest HSBC ATM?
Also, anyone keen on grabbing a beer or two?

Any suggestions for a decent cheap hotel near Okada for 3 nights for MOPT (start of November), preferably with a pool. Or should I airbnb? Will be passing through from Boracay through to BK after.

On the way out mid Oct I might stay in Makati for a night of degen due to tight flight connections, same question for there as well.

Thanks

Internet should be ok if your place have fiber internet, also if you get 4g signal for globe or smart could be ok, they have 2giga for 99pesos for one week 'promos'. Resorts world just had APT so there were plenty of 100/200 and 200/500... Though it obv isnt that busy now when the series is over.
For Centagas.
Manila and cheap hotel with pool doens't really fit... There are some really nice hotel with pool in Okada... but yea quite expensive. There are some cheaper options near by like red planet or go hotel PAsay... but i dont think they have pool. You might find airbnb with decent price around Pasay/paranaque with pool
