Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines? - Page 550

1 day in the philippines and I ended up at a multi level marketing place. I guess its called networking here, which explains so many profiles sayinh "NO TO NETWORKING"(which I thought was pretty weird.

I thought it was a comedy club and the hype man was a comedian.

Noped out and am waiting a minimart nearby for their meeting to end. Will see if that was the only reason reason they wanted to meet. Kind of weird this isnt a big thing in other sea countries.

It's on the rise in Cambodia as well. My wife's got duped into going to such a meeting.

Hi all,
Where are the best spots for $2/5~$10/20 equivalent NLHE? I had initially heard COD, Resorts World and Solaire have consistent games but a friend who plays table games told me most casinos got rid of their poker and that there are only small games (~$100 max buyin) left in Solaire, or so she heard while over there extremely recently, though I'm not sure of the source.
If that's true, can you guys recommend safe poker clubs that are worth a visit? We do prefer hotel/casino poker rooms though.

COD does not have games. Resorts World runs $1/$2 and $2/$4 (50/100 and 100/200) and Solaire has 1/2, 2/4/ and 5/10 and 10/20.

sounds like your visa expired. you get stamped for one month on arrival, right?

I found one poker club in Cebu, it was very close to Bamboo Bay residence(Hernan Cortes st.), just ask someone. Mostly NLHE and sometimes Omaha they told me, 10% rake..

What were the stakes? Rake capped at how much?

I was a bit day drunk when I stumbled in, but the lowest was 10/20 php and cap at 200 for this game. 10/20 was the only game running when I was there, it was about 3 pm, but it seemed like there would be more games in the evening ofcourse. Cant really tell how high it would go, never played there.

I changed USD at the exchange booth next to the food court at Solaire several times. Rate is really good. It even happened that I got a better rate than the official one.
Changing back gives the same rate.
