BGC, Manila -> Had a quick look at prices for 1BR rent is about 30kPHP per month. Is that the usual one would expect to pay in this area? (was checking lamudi.com.ph)

Internet lagging at Knights bridge past few days for my 50 mpbs PLDT.

I'm thinking about getting an apartment near Solaire and MOA.

Any recommendations for top notch wifi and decent value, and a very nice place. Ideally with a gym and pool and perfect wifi options.

Thanks!

30k seems like the minimum in BGC...

Seems like for a one month it's ok.

For a 6 month lease, I think it's pretty high.

Anyone staying at Solamare?

I guess most of the poker pros are in Thailand?

There some Casinos near the Airport, like Okada and Resorts World that would be very close to the airport if you're budget is ok.

I'm from U.S. but I'm based in Phils now. Is it hard to set up on Poker Stars?

I don't know how to fund the account here properly.

Yeah, that's not a good deal at all imo. Especially if electric isnt included. I've never stayed there, but I've stayed at Sea Residences across the street many times for 30k month to month. Even negotiated a deal thru airbnb for 25k. I'm assuming your unit is a studio like most of the rooms.

i would like a 1br, studio is really annoying to stay in for 6 month, when you plan to cook and its in your bedroom for studio.

I am going to go to Puerto Princessa for a week or so and ask around prices there, and then might go to bohol as it seems like it will have what i want which is some nature, not too much pollution, beach and internet.

Ive found a nice studio for 30k in a a nice new resort in Lapu Lapu (mactan) but its a studio and I will have to pay for COndo dues + electricity/water + intenret so I'm going to look on some islands

Was easy to set up. I might have had to send them a phone bill and ACR as proof address don’t remember. You can deposit with the right local cc or go through neteller I think. Might be easier just to try exchange peso for transfer if can find someone selling.

Yeah me 2 man. I was getting burned out on the traffic and crowds and noise in Makati and have been looking into other areas of the country to check out and possibly move to.

BGC is nice around Manila area. I feel more comfortable around that area.

Is the internet really good in Bohol? What are you doing online?

There is some construction work going on here now.

You will definitely notice if you go out to the pool. I have a one b.r. and if I shut my door or leave open and and turn on the fan, I can work in the kitchen and not notice the noise. There are a lot of construction workers outside of my balcony, and without the fan I can't focus well.

I'm wearing earplugs in the pool area. That helps make it manageable for me.

So cashouts and deposits are easy? You're from the US?

I tried Skrill but they won't accept USA...

Yes from US and really haven’t had any problems. For deposits I have tried the debit card from a couple banks and local cc. Debit card from Robinson bank worked best.

For taking money out I have only done small amounts and just sold to other players for peso rather than deposit from Stars so can’t really confirm.

You might check with room at Okada. I am pretty sure you can buy into some tournaments but it may be only that and maybe only during bigger events.

I'm going to leave Philippines for 10 days due to trip to Japan - can someone explain to me what happens to my visa? I'll be leaving on the final day of my regular 2 month extension (I have ACR card). Will the cycle start over (30 days visa free, then 29 day visa waiver and just then 2 month extension)? And I'll need a return ticket within those 30 days again or is it fine to have one in ~3 month and to just explain that I plan to extend my visa?

Thanks

thinking of playing live for the first time so got some really dumb questions:

1) wheres best place to play?

2) can you just use bankcard to withdraw 50-100k? hsbc visa debit

3) if you win, can they put cash back onto your card? or do i have to just carry cash back home?

4) Expected to tip dealers?

5) drinks free? how about beer?

the cycle completely resets, so 1st extension is 1 month then 2nd is 2 months. U will need a return ticket but sometimes i just bluff it, doesnt always work
