Should've added nightlife isn't a priority for me. Being on top of a mall with multiple food options is a definite edge though. Was touring Gramercy and the pools are drained for maintenance. Guy at the desk said something about being done by Sep 30, which I'm guessing means he has no ****ing clue and the line for over Sep 30 is like -200. Fair read? The pool being down for multiple months would be a pretty big bummer.

The signs by the pool said Sep 30 yeah, I was there recently. Was only the infinity pool not the lap pool and there was still the deckchair area to the right to sunbathe

The gym is bigger and open later, and pool open later, id still pick gramercy

also KB pool is closed all day on mondays

and KB sometimes stop you to sign in a girl, Gram dont say anything at all, or before the mall closes (10pm) go in via the private mall entrance theres no one there

Pasha restaurant is good just across the road from gramercy, shorter walk to supermarkets as well. If its raining you'll get wetter at KB / sweatier if its blazing hot

Just a little worried it might be one of those classic Philippines things I hear about all the time where the pool is 'under repair' for months.

I guess it mainly comes down to; do I want a bigger unit, little nicer, nice amenities for a little more monthly, or save the 30 mins cab each way to Solaire 2-3 times a week regarding Gramercy vs Sea or Shell or whatever other condo is over there. Any other major or important factor I'm missing?

Furnishings...

The complexes are all pretty much the same. Last time I was there I ended up staying at Jazz because it was the nicest apartment (refurbished by two guys). Just look at all of the units near the area you want and choose the nicest one.

The name on the front isn't going to matter much.

Also I had the opposite experience with Gramercy/KB and security being *******s about the rules.

Yeah I'm at Jazz for another week before I sign a 6 month at probably Gram. Been here a week now. Having to pay for pool every time and no gym access sucks, definitely wouldn't stay here long term. If I was smart I'd probably sample 2 or 3 different places before signing a 6 month but this last week has been annoying trying to schedule showings. Even leasing agencies sometimes take days to respond. Makes planning ahead a major headache.

Did the gym close down? Airbnb says there is one. Haven't been there.

I'm reading it's 150 pesos a day for the pool? Weird.

I stayed at Jazz for a month this year. While I was checking in I asked the guy in the lobby if he knew the hours for the gym and he told me I was not allowed to use it if I am not an owner and just renting...I still used it about 10 times though. Only the last time was the worker outside the door asking me if owner and if have my key card etc.

The worst thing about Jazz for me was the absurd elevators. At my tower it wouldn't be crazy to wait 7+ mins for that damn thing.

Gramercy's gym/pool aren't open 24 hours anymore, but yeah still open late(midnightish) and longer than other options. The spa now offers in room massage though.

I got here right when the crackdown on the gym started, first of Sep. There are people at the doors now at all times checking everyone. No gym access unless you are a unit owner. And elevators are slow. Went to gramercy and its night and day difference. And water pressure in tower D is bad. Wouldn't stay at Jazz again.

Worst part of jazz is having to use grab/uber to leave the place. Also, (Jazz is worse) but Gramercy's elevators are still horrible.

Why do you have to use grab/uber?

Because catching a normal taxi without walking for 5 mins is difficult

Anyone have any experience with Legazpi village condos? Looking at Perla and Parkplace, any idea how the internet is there? Assume it's good being right next to Greenbelt. Any major reason no to/or to live there? God damn is it hard getting showings lined up and executed smoothly over here. Then you make an offer on a place and the owner doesn't reply for a week.

If anyone is interested in checking out Cebu, my condo is coming available Dec 1. I have no financial interest, just took me a while to locate this pretty ideal unit so I thought I would share. LaGuardia Flats 2 corner unit, larger studio with sofa and coffee table. It's adjacent to IT Park, short walk to Waterfront and a solid grocery store. 50-Mbps Fibr internet pre-installed ($37/month) Foreigner owned, easy to deal with and accepts any form of payment. Usually 6-month lease but might accept 3-months if it is close to my move-out date P18K/~$350

My uncle came over (non-filipino, but lived in the philippines) and he asked if I had a can of corn?

I gave him one and he opened the can, dumped out the water, topped it off with sugar and filled it with milk.

Not necessarily so cheap but there are some condos very near(solemare, sea residences and couple of others) that are like 20k and up per month depending how long contract you take( if just one month then maybe over 30k). There are some cheaper options farther away like across roxas blvd.... but they are not so safe anymore... But i quess you can leave your money in casino

In order to leave money to casino you need so called "sun city account" (vip account) and to open it you need to deposit 100k php atleast as first deposit. Then you can withdraw and put money to your account as you wish.

There's a weird thing about laughing when denying a request in Philippines. You can open an account at the CoD cashier too, but not at the poker room itself. It was much harder in CoD though and I never did it, but I had friends who did.
