If those are actually in PHP, and according to that print up they all are, then the biggest buy in is only a bit over $50, none of them even get to $100 for the buy in.

No matter how soft the field, I don't think it's possible to beat the juice in those tournaments and even if somehow it is figure out your ROI and then figure out your hourly. It's literally on par with the hourly Filipino's make in Call Center jobs. Lol at that.

So if he just wants to play for fun, sure why not, although it's still pretty stupid with how much juice is being paid IMO, but trying to play them for a living would be completely rediculos, even if the juice somehow is beatable.

Was just offering the info, not suggesting the dailys are good value. There is at least one series per month which offer bigger buyin and fields that do offer value. I also think the 2krebuy every other Saturday at CoD is probably worth considering as it has easily exceeded the 500k guarantee to date. Admittedly it is short stack shoving when money matters but what do expect for a low buyin 1 day

Sup, guys. I'm going to Manila on April 27th and plan to stay for a week (then go somewhere else in the Philippinnes). What's the best way to get accommodation? Is it possible to find cheap (max $20) hotels? If not, then I'll have to stay in hostels. I want a good location, specially being close from a nice outdoors park. Don't care about poker or nightlife.

Also would accept renting a room on a fellow 2+2er's house... as long as you dont mind me bringing chicks

Cheers

The obvious question that needs asking is, how do you feel about staying in a room with Pixar characters all over the wallpaper on every single wall in the room? Is that a deal breaker? If not, where do you draw the line? How about all pink wallpaper sprinkled with pics of Disney princesses on every wall of the room? How does that sound?

Look for something around Legazpi area in makati, there are a bunch of parks but good luck finding it for 20$

Hotels are bad value in the Philippines, for $20 you won't have as good a room as elsewhere in SE Asia

http://www.makatiapartelle.com/ - $21
http://www.sanagustinresidences.com/ - $23
red planet makati on agoda is about the same

All tiny rooms

http://zhostel.com/ if you get a 4 - 8 person room

From all those you can walk to Ayala Triangle Park http://www.ayalatriangle.com/

Better off looking on airbnb with a $30 discount link if it's your first booking, it'll be a nicer place compared to a hotel of the same price. And some owners give like ~10% off for booking a whole week

Couldn't care less about cartoons in my bedroom. All that matters is to have brown girls close by, and being able to bring them back to my cave

My first two days are in Couchsurfing, so I guess it'll be best to just decide after I see the areas personally

The legazpi in makati seems perfect, and I guess Airbnb makes the girls feel less slutty. A full week in Manila it is then, for the 10% discount. Thanks for the help, dudes. I hope to pay you all back in sexually pervasive stories.

k2d and jspill what do you do these days as you aren't playing poker anymore and seem to be spending quite a lot?

Do you make any reasonably money from nomad phils?

I had a fairly high traffic blog that barely made 100 bucks in adsense income but traffic dropped after I stopped making posts. I feel that kind of stuff is super fickle.

I do customer support for 2 companies, work a lot (as in 9-10h days), barely make 2k and wish poker back as it was at least a fun challenge.

^ k2d spending a lot? He spends 1k/month, me like 2-3k.

bout 350/month but it doesn't use adsense, not allowed on that kind of site

main job is with a company same as you

i got a few things going on

would start spending more but enjoy squirreling away money

jspills post was a bit confusing on the hotels, but makati apartelle not a tiny room at all, full on apartment size with fridge, can pay a bit extra to rent a stove or if ask nicely they will microwave food for you, jeepney just up the street will take you to makati ave/right next to burgos for 7 pesos

I'm honestly terrified of going broke and having to move back to the soon to be caliphate of europistan. **** is bad mang, so I see it as a huge necessity to have 2+ years of living expenses saved up soon, just so I have a long buffer to figure things out when **** hits the fan.

I don't think people like to talk details in case 2+2ers join their games

What some do is grind hard for 90 days (length of visa-free stay) in macau cos there's nothing else to do there then take a long break from poker in other countries

I've said it several times itt. Rake is too high to make a lot of money. I think a good expectation would be a few thousand usd a month for crushers. Way better options.

Hey guys, two noob questions:

1) Can I find a 27''+ screen easily in Manila and for roughly the same price as elsewhere in the world?

2) Any recommendations for mobile backup internet? Would likely use the **** out of it for 2-3 weeks and then leave the country, so would need probably 10-20GB total. Would like to avoid having to top up after every 500MB used or so.

Screen can look at PC Express (lots of branches): https://pcx.com.ph DynaQuest: https://dynaquestpc.com, PC Hub Gilmore (or any other computer shop at Gilmore, Quezon City) 24" monitors are fair priced, not sure about 27"+.

For internet, easiest with provider "Globe" (texting codes is always to 8080):
GoSURF999 = 8GB 30 days - P999

But cheapest is combination of this "cheat sheet": https://i.imgur.com/u0PyThC.jpg, for example:
GOTSCOMBOHAF193 + 8x GOCOMBOIKEA35 = 8GB 30 days - P473 (but note that sometimes you have to wait ~1 hour before you can send the next "GOCOMBOIKEA35" or "GOTSCOMBOKEA37".)

That being said, the alternative provider "Smart" can be better in some locations.

So far from my experience smart has far better 3/4g. Globe was almost unusable for me.
