She's is from Manila but lived, except the last year, the last 7 years in China and before in Davao.

So she's not so familar with the enviroment in Manila. She has there some family but actually I'm looking also for some tipps from other foreigners who live there. Then tipps from the family only because expats can understand my needs probably better.

They recommended the St.Lukes Hospital for birth which is actually one of the most expensive hospitals in town. Of course i dont want she gives birth in a ****ty public hospital but it doesnt need to be the most expensive one too.

^ 20k usually gets you a studio in Manila, in any nice area of Manila that expats like to live (Makati, Pasay, BGC). Don't think you'll find a 2BR for that

Would imagine you'd have to go a bit further out of town and look into buildings that are 10+ years old, and not really have a great time

Craigslist - https://manila.craigslist.com.ph/sea...labilityMode=0

Since condos are so much cheaper in Thailand it might +EV longterm to spend the money saved solving your visa issues instead, whether it's an Ed visa for the girlfriend, or replacing her passport for a fresh one and applying at different consulates, or even the Thai Elite card

Or you might be able to get visa extensions based on having a dependant even if it's not Thai. Some thaivisa threads on it

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/...e-in-thailand/

Then again here is a 2BR for 16k - https://manila.craigslist.com.ph/apa/5909045894.html

Two bedrooms are very expensive in Manila. Minimum is probably 60k, and most are going to be 20k more than that... in any of the nice areas at least. (Only checked 15 or so rooms but that was the case for me. I guess it's possible there are cheaper but they just get jumped on quickly)

Your best bet is probably to get a nice one bedroom for 30 to 35k and have the crib in the family room.

Looking online was always a waste of time in my experience, you'll want to go in person.

Hi guys, i am going back there in a few days, i was wondering a few things:
- how long can you extend your tourist visa for ?
- is it easy to rent a condo with a tourist visa for a year lease ? If no extension we would just fly to stamp our visa.
- Is there grinders looking to get a 3 bedrooms in makati or bgc ?

Pretty much indefinitely

Yes, but be smart about who you rent from. 2 months deposit and 2 months down payment is the law (supposedly) although a lot of places don't follow that. But anyways when giving 4 months rent up front you obviously open yourself up to a lot of scams.

Please let me know what you find when looking at 2 or 3 bedrooms in those areas. I could be interested but not for a year.

i need to receive a phone call to a us number, i have tried various ways on google, the main site most recommend never loads up (phone.ipkall) or something like that

you can buy a small amount of credit to make calls from skype, but to receive u need to pay $18 a month

anyone know how to work this out? others offer a free trial if you give them a credit card... not even once

Thanks, I've spent a fair bit of time in Africa where some of the smaller regional airlines put out schedules that were nowhere near what actually flew. IN other words, they might list 3 flights a week between Nairobi and Bujumbura, but in reality the flight MIGHT run twice a week, or make an unscheduled stop in Kigali.

So, sounds like Cebu is reliable and looks like my best option from Bali to Manila. Any other issues I should be aware of?

Regarding Corregidor Island, has anyone been on the Bataan March "trail"? Are there markers indicating where the Baatan Death March took place? I'm a history buff and wanted to check out Corregidor for sure. Any recommendation appreciated.

Kilju: http://www.pearlslettingagency.com/

Been using them for couple of times for monthly rentals and can recommend. Most of their units come with private PLDT broadband which you will need for poker. Have always had a great internet in their condos (Fort area)
