Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines? Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?

I am going to Manila for a month and would like to know what is the min max, the rake and what it is capped at for each stake and the different casinos and which games are the best. The different cardrooms seem to have changes now and again and the games seem seasonal...

Thanks

Go to Somuchpoker.com, it has all the info you are looking for. Almost every one of the rooms it mentions for the Philippines is in Manila.

Or you could surf through this thread until you find all the answers to your questions piece by piece, but that will take about 100x as long as just going to that website will.

Thanks. Does anyone know about the min max, rake and what it is capped at for RMW? It didn't have those info for it and seems to be constantly changing everytime I look for info on it.

Thanks

10 dollars is average, the low part is that it's 5% not 10% rake.

The 3000 deaths in 3 months was eye opening compared to other drug wars where not even 3000 died in those others over a multi year span. And targeting all users with the same methods (murder) is certainly a new development.

As to BGP's note, I would point out two things- 1, I think the 1900 deaths cited seems low, which by itself would then show a huge increase compared to baseline Wikipedia stats. 2, the stat comparison also could be off if the wiki stats are all murders and the 1900 (or whatever the number really is) only refers to the drug war murders.

Not messing with BGP in particular, but it is kind of amusing to hear arguments that traffic/terrorist incidents/other crime is so bad in the PI and to be wary of these outliers (like the terrorist killing some resort tourists), when the drug war deaths are something pretty tangible and the response is "it could be the same as before it may just be some media bias."

I got a bad feeling that this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
death toll has risen due to war against drug

Withdrawing money in Manila is a scam. Max withdrawal is 10k peso and they charge you 200 peso fee. It's possible your bank charges a fee too so you could be looking at 10 usd in fees for a 200 usd withdrawal.

Casinos will screw you as well but not as hard, supposedly resorts world has the best exchange rates but that's just what I've heard. If you are coming from home I'd try to exchange at your bank before if they don't charge too much.

BPI ATMs let you take out 20k and apparently HSBC do 30k but they're rare, never saw one

There's a BPI right next to Kojax luckily, walk out with your chick and to the right and cross the street

Was getting charged 100 baht by thai bank on top of the 200 peso fee, so $7 per $420 withdrawal

I think it was 10k$ but only 10k pesos and yes i would bring dollars just find money changer(there is tons, casino is not really good option) who give you good rate... Just be careful with your cash and keep it safe. There are some ATMs that give you 20k(and maybe even few that give more)

are you allowed to keep money at the different venues so you don't have to bring money every time you go?

BPI indeed 20k, HSBC (visa only, I believe...) 40k withdrawal, one located close to Greenbelt Mall.

It is illegal to bring more than 10k pesos in or out of the country. Even if you declare it. You can bring more than 10k usd as long as you declare it.

You can take more in and out of the equivalent of 10k pesos, i.e 10k $U.S but they dont like pesos leaving the Phils, so the rule is no more than 10k of actual pesos.

Ha yeah I thought about that as I was posting it. Although I'm not affiliated with the site at all so I don't think it would count as an infraction anyway, but whatever...not really sure what the official policy is on it.

Well if BGP wants to give me a slap on the wrist for it, that's cool.

For the most part yes. Also your edge is probably not big enough to beat the rake anyways.
