Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines? - Page 480

Friend played there last night and did really well. Said they had a 100 200 for an hour but it didn't last and they changed to 50 100.

Anyone heard this rumor that as of July 1 bars will all close at 2? Lollllll if true.

Thanks. No idea why he's talking to the media... especially about flushing stuff down the toilet.

If it's true that they were selling drugs at a concert where 5 people overdosed could be bad news even if it wasn't their stuff.

Btw the people who said 2am closing time were told by staff at burgos bars.

Not sure about the article, but the quantity on the table is a lot for Philippines, i have never seen more then a handful, let alone bags of it.

Maybe I'm somewhat sheltered, but getting that many pills in SEA is not an easy task..

Hello Guys, What's the best way of cashing out your winnings here in the Philippines? I tried bankwire thru my BPI PHP account. The charges was insane. i cashed 5k$ and only receive most or less 4.6k$.

at BDO the charge was $10 total

maybe because you have a peso account? get a dollar account, u can get one at BPI if u have had your account for a few months, or you can go set up a new one at BDO

Yup bank here give ****ty exhange rates if you wire foreigner currency... even WU gives better rate. BPI is worst and BDO is bit better

Well obv depends what currency you wiring(though i quess in many banks you can wire out dollars even if your account isn't in dollars... just let your home bank do the conversion)... if you have dollar account here and are wiring x amount of dollars... you get the x-fees(which you should first find out at your home bank and if they have some additional fees here)... Where as if you have peso account you get the x-fees converted with their exhange rate(which you can find out first also... but it is kinda ****ty). It is bit more complicated if your home currency is not dollar... even for euros

I have been 'robbed' by BPI also once... never again

I got BPI and BDO peso accounts... But yea if you get recjected... just try another Branch.... Like i first tried another branch in Davao... and they said no(only said that foreigners allowed dollar account but i wanted peso account)... I immideatly walked to another branch less than 1km away and got it

think stars have a 2.5% fee if you didnt convert to euros first in the client

not sure but losing $400 only from the philippines bank sounds like a lot

Get € account from HSBC and withdraw in € before converting to PHP. I'm not sure which other banks have euro accounts, but it's easy to open an account with HSBC if you can keep 100k+ PHP on deposit. If you have moneybookers, you can also withdraw in $ to $ account.

ya if you are in euros then im not sure if my advice will help, but if you can get dollar withdrawals then do dollar to BDO, then you can either withdraw dollar at the teller and go to a money changer or withdraw peso at the atm for a slightly worse but still good rate

if you follow jeffs advice which is surely the best then withdraw euro from the bank and take it to a money changer

It worked for withdrawals (Pokersite->Skrill and Skrill->HSBC.ph) as of 3 months ago.

if you can do it all at HSBC. I know when I first moved here and was still paid through my US account got by far best rate if I withdrew from HSBC. Plus they were only ATM that allowed 40k PHP withdraw which saves a lot on the fees your bank at home charges.
