k2d is back! Great to see you back.

Aren't Internet cafes fun? I actually thought they were interesting, but I sure wouldn't want to play poker in one.

I had SmartBro and Globe Internet and the customer service of each was the worst of any business I've ever encountered. My Internet was out for five weeks with SmartBro. I kept calling and complaining, talked to six different managers over the time period, and they assured me each time that it was fixed. Then why didn't it work?

They techs that visited me frequently all agreed that my Internet didn't work. However, each of them said their reports meant little to nothing to the people at the central office.

I guess I finally yelled at them enough (I was EXTREMELY patient the first few calls...), because they sent a couple people out with their laptops and monitoring equipment. They discovered that the cell tower servicing the area did not work correctly...By that time, I had switched Internet companies.

The last manager I talked to arranged for a refund of one month. Each time I visited the SmartBro office, they said the request had not been processed, until one day I told them it had been many months and I want an answer now. They took an hour checking on it and discovered that the manager that had promised me the refund was no longer with the company and without her, they could not honor my refund request.

I had problems with Globe for three weeks+ as well.

Hi
Where is this place with great internet? What provider and backup, if any, do you use? What's the name of the apt or condo? How much do you pay per month? Sorry for four different questions. I think I would prefer the Philippines over Thailand if I could get reliable internet service.
Thanks

LOL, I actually really did miss that. My eyes scanned the post and caught on to a lady boy serfing masturbation porn so somehow I averted my innocent eyes to everything but the first paragraph.
So is the bottom line if you want reliable internet to go to Thailand? The poster above mentioned Bohol. I'll look further into that. I was also interested in Davao but the search function doesn't bring up Davao and internet connectivity issues. My research online suggests that Davao may be unique and actually have good internet reliability.

must be a noob if thinks i would give out my exact location

there is reliable internet to be found in phils, according to the front desk of my place the router broke and thats the problem, i may be wrong but i think routers may be able to break in thailand to, its just that the company takes forever to come

when the router isn't broken the wifi there is like 98% reliable

i also know a place in subic that has 100% reliable internet EXCEPT that at around 7am every day the router turns off and on so it goes out for 45ish seconds, also in subic smartbro is a pretty reliable backup

there is good internet here but ive only found it on luzon

Extended (and at some points frequent) power outages were also a huge problem for me north of Cebu City. They made me give up SNGs for cash, which was actually a huge positive.

Yep. Metroclub and Resort World have a few tables of PLO running. You will have to check with somebody else on the stakes, but PLO is alive and well.

Thanks. Anybody know what sort of stakes run? Also, does it tend to be more recreational players or grinder types?

PLO at any location in Manila is rarely more than one table unless there is a tournament series at that location

Solaire - usually 200/500 sometimes 500/1000

MetroWalk - usually 100/100/200 game typically starts around 3-4pm and runs until maybe 1am Monday - Saturday (recently has not ran on Saturday as often)

RW - 100/200 or 100/200/500 when it runs. I dont play at RW as much anymore so you may want to confirm but my understanding is that is rare

Regardless of location for most part you are going to see the same group of players. Some more often than others. If you are competent won't take you long to determine the grinders and rec.

Solaire is by far most likely spot to find a clueless rec player in game taking a break from baccarat.

Interesting article profiling the red light district in Angeles City that was frequented by the British banker who has been accused of gruesomely murdering two women in his Hong Kong apartment.

Probably would have been better off not sharing that. Is it Pooter or Pokerspiv that will go off on you now? Forgot which one hates you.
