ive never actually had to renew a visa - i was on a work visa for the first two years (tourist visas last 6 months) and ive been in and out of the country with enough regularity recently not to need a renewal.

It's worth a trip. It will probably rain, but it's warm rain and it won't rain all the time.

However, 2 days in Boracay isn't very long once you factor in travel time. Depending which airport you take, you are looking at 5 to 7 hours travel time door to door.

Hi I'm considering coming for the APT Manila in September. I've never been to the Philippines before(but well-travelled otherwise) so I've spent some time reading this thread and over the net.

I plan to stay for the duration of the APT, and then maybe another week or two if the cash games are good. I know cash games are offered at RWM, Solaire, and Metro. I'm interested in stakes at least equivalent of 2/5 USD but preferably higher. I know higher games don't run all the time, but since hotel/food costs are low in Manila I'm willing to play a little lower. So my questions are:

- What is the best way to change money into PHP and then back to original currency at the end of my visit without getting ripped off... can't be the casino right?
- Obv during the APT since I play tournaments also, it would be easy to stick to RWM where APT is. After the APT, where would be best for cash games?
- If I only plan on being around casinos and visit to safer areas like Makati, maybe a visit to some bar but not a dodgy one, would it be safe to carry cash on me or should I put in the hotel safe(sometimes they aren't 'safe'..) or can I deposit into casino account?

Regarding taking cash to bars and around Makati, its very safe, but I guess it depends how much you are talking about.

Many hotels will provide a safe in your room that should me more than secure enough for your needs.

Cash games at rwm and metro are general lower from 10/20 to 50/100 are regular games (us$1/2 and below). If you want higher on a regular basis your only option is solaire. Unfortunately all three locations are spread out with the metro being the least 'safe area' out of them but I'd say that all three are fine so long as you're smart about it.
