Do phillipeans hotels have/sell electrical plug adapters or should I be bringing one with me from Canada? Reading online it looks like Phills uses 220/240 VAC. Is this correct?

Some hotels have them but all do not, it is true and you should bring your own if possible. Most also have a diff type of plug as well. Most hotels have at least the adapter for plug type.

I always check three local airlines: Cebu Pacific https://www.cebupacificair.com, Air Asia http://www.airasia.com/ph/en/home.page, and Philippine Airlines http://www1.philippineairlines.com for any regional flight.

It also depends if you want direct flight from Caticlan.

Air Asia only flies into Kalibo but you will find that to be much cheaper if you are willing to take the bus ride from Caticlan port to Kalibo (~2 hrs).

Anyone have PH as their address for their Skrill account? Read mixed reviews, but if you could post here or PM me, I would greatly appreciate it!

Yeah you can't leave Manila for Caticlan (Borocay) after around 3pm. I think is has to do with airport as home page shows no flights after 5pm http://www.transaire.com.ph/index.php?m=1.

If you are getting into Manila late and don't want an overnight in Manila (airport is just across street from resorts world if want to play poker) you will need to fly into Kalibo and take bus to Caticlan. I did this the last couple times I went to Borocay so could leave after work and because is cheaper. It is super easy to get bus once you land in Kalibo and will take you about 2 hrs to get to Caticlan.

You can always book one way tickets and fly direct from Caticlan to Manila for your return trip to avoid second bus ride.

You can login in your browser and do everything, but you can't deposit to a pokerroom unless you have a VPN.

Not a big problem, just a bit of a hastle.

Withdrawing from poker room to Skrill no probs.

Cheers

No flights after 5pm as there are no lights on many of the runways.

go buy a sun pocket wifi because my hotel internet has been awful for downloading (i cant stream youtube fine and poker is fine, but downloading is almost non existent)

takes 45 minutes to do something that should take 10 which is why the lines are so long, then the guy inputs my password wrong so i have to go back up today adn wait in line again, and the thing doesnt stay it turns off every few minutes for no reason AND when it was "working" in the day it actually wasnt, even though my wifi thingy on my laptop says full signal i couldnt even connect to a poker site and tiny download speed

so now i have a smart, globe, and sun and NONE of them work in the day

Internet has been totally weird at home (PLDT) and at work (no idea what but 20mb line), lots of DOS on websites. This is when corruption sucks that they do not allow competition with other ISP's. Try and get 1000ph on a Globe sim and you should get decent internet for 1 month unlimited.

Pocket wifi. It has always worked for me and I usually grind from 4pm-2am. At first, I would occasionally lose my connection for 20 seconds, not enough time to get any hands folded, really, but now I never lose my connection.

I am in Sabang. While I have only been using my pocket wifi, rumor has it that the land connection is decent here. I will also purchase a globe stick.

My buddy has the globe pocket wifi, and both of us encountered the same problem : we had to reload even before our 1k pesos guaranteed expired. But if not, the connection is solid.

were you downloading a lot or was it just poker/forum surfing that caused you to go over?

do you like sabang?

Wasn't downloading at all, so it makes no sense whatsoever. Nah, I don't like Sabang, but did have a couple of goodnights partying... Will check out Boracay in the next few days.
