Hitting Palau for some diving mid Oct-13.

Edit:

Found a perhaps good value package forwarding service for US goods.

Order something in US, delivered to their address, then 7-10 days to PH @ $6 a lb.

Thx, it did answer most of my questions. Still have one though about hotels over there : how much would a comfortable low-mid range hotel cost in Cebu? For example, in Vietnam I would invest 17-22$ for cozy places.

You can probably find something OK at around the 1000peso mark (like $22 I guess?), am primarily thinking of Tune hotel close to Ayala, or Diplomat hotel close to Fuente. Haven't stayed in those myself though but heard they're pretty good value for short term.

To start off I'd probably go with one of those then look around for options (apartments/condos/houses/townhouses) for longer term stay if that's what you're looking for.

Some general question if anyone wouldn't mind answering. I'm really serious about finally making a trip out there. Just wonder what is the best time for cheaper tickets down there? I'm in Las Vegas.

How much would I need for a 2-3 week stay? Board/food/money to spend on girls/internet/getting around.

Is it really as easy to pick up girls as I hear? How much to for umm working girls?

Thanks in advance guys, I guess I'm considering Cebu/Manilla

Yeah can't wait.

It's expensive to get to, compared to Cebu Pac deals to other SE asia countries, but USA (territories) #1*!

I booked this itinerary a couple months in advance and it was USD 540 all in.

MNL - GUM - ROR (Palau)

RT ROR - MNL direct

12 hr layover in GUM but during the day and I don't mind having a look around there.

---

PAL starting direct flights to London in Nov-13. Good deal + saves a few hours.

Now im ****ing mad because she is mad...
She is not dumb or anything but she just doesnt understand, when ive dated western girls they usually understand after a couple of weeks, and even if they still think its a game of luck they sees you are winning so they let you play.
Cant say "this is what ****ing pays your food" because she pays for herself.
While she is being 'mad' i would very very calmly pack her bags, and walk them outside to the street, return to the sofa and start watching T.V.

This wins every time. EVERY time.

its hard to answer because we dont know what you are wanting to do and what you hope to spend, but since you are asking for cheap flights im gonna assume you want to do it on a budget so.....

hotel = 30-40 a day (cant really do much cheaper then that in manila or cebu)

food = 10ish a day (can definitely be cheaper, or more)

internet = if you are gonna be playing online your gonna want to buy a smartbro or some other 3g stick that will cost $30ish and then you can do 5 days for $5, if you arent going to play poker then just use hotels wifi

girls = what youve heard is true

working girls = depends how you do it, if you go to the burgos street bars and barfine then you are paying $100-$200, if you get freelancers you can get them for A LOT less

just remember that supply and demand is hugely in your favor on this one, so if one girl wants to much move on to the next, obviously if you find one you think is worth more go for it

also depends on how old you are how fat you are how much game you have and how nice you are, but anywhere from 15-30 should be enough, start the negotiation low (500 pesos) and go up to whatever you feel comfortable with (would have to be a supermodel for me to go all the way to 1500)

taxis are really cheap ($1.50-$3) but if you are moving around a lot that can add up, if you are in manila the trains are actually a lot faster than taking a taxi and cheaper, its also quite an interesting experience being jam packed in a train with a billion people

So I'm confused is 100-200 USD for a working girl or 15-30? Thanks again!

100-200 is if you are either rich or a dumb tourist and go to the high priced girly bars and overpay

15-30 is if you go with a freelancer (girl who doesnt work for a bar, like a streetwalker kinda sorta)

girls are about the least of your worries

That is NOT true. FYI, Filipinos had the option of adopting a Spanish surname when the Spanish ruled. However less than 1 percent actually have any Spanish blood. Their bloodlines are mainly from China and Vietnam. So that booty/boob thing is false unless they have had cosmetic enhancements which I hear are very cheap over there.

I live in China and I love the girls, but most of them do not have booties and boobies.....Filipinos also have nice wide eyes as well...

Anyways, how the beaches? have you gone?

Is it the typical bar girl scene where as in Thailand and China- there most of the time ho s?

Any pics of your chick?

Is manila worth visiting? prob similar with most other Asian cities?

American Guys/UK guys seem to blindly date foreign women who cater to their every wish despite knowing they have those clever intentions. Are they just playing dumb? I mean if a woman knows a guy wants her for something other than her (her money, etc) she'd be quick to notice and dump him quick whereas the American/uk guy stays with the Asian gal? Why?

Philippines is not Thailand as the drivers are crazy and the infrastructure is pretty bad. You definietely feel you are in a third world country when you leave the makati area of Manila. I wouldn't suggest it. It also takes you 2 hours to get from one suburb to another. Taxis are so cheap and easy, there's no point in stressing yourself out on the road solo.

Little about myself: I am half filipino and have been to the Philippines around 9 times in my life, sometimes for stretches lasting 3 months.

Let's talk about Manila

Pros:

-You get great value for your money. Cheap drinks, cheap food even in high end restaurants, cheap transportation, cheap movies (higher end cinemas than North America), cheap everything.

-The women love foreigners. I am treated like a rock star whenever I am there. When you walk in a club you feel as if you can pick up any chick (these are 100% not whore joints, I'm talking about the most posh clubs in Manila). Fyi, when you look at a hot girl, you see a hot girl, when a hot girl looks at you, they see a walking green card.

-Extremely friendly people, and they all speak english. It's actually a very english friendly country thanks to 50 years of American occupation (it was a friendly union for the most part, unlike Iraq). All street signs, billboard advertisements are in english.

-Bored of Manila? Why not try a weekend trip to Cebu or the other dozen 5 star resort locations around the Philippines for $200-$300 dollars/weekend? (Includes flight and hotel stay, ridic cheap)

Cons:

-Pollution is terrible in Manila.
-It's so humid that you never feel dry, especially after a shower. (AC is mandatory)
-Getting around Manila is a nightmare (2 hour traffic jams is the norm). If you plan on living there as a poker pro, find a place in the Makati area and you will never have to leave (clubs, shopping, high end everything).

Conclusions: If I continue on improving my earn rate the way I am doing now, I will for sure spend at least 6 months in the Philippines, it's a great place for people like us.

Nice TR and pics.

Yah I'm v excited but kinda scared about diving with sharks since my nose usually bleeds a little and sharks + my blood = potentially bad news.

I am staying at Sea Passion resort, though PPR looks A+.
