Pretty sure they run big game as PLO from time to time as well. This weekend might be decent as the 1 million guarantee starts Friday 24May. If you are tourney playe is also a 2 million guarantee at Metro Walk starting 30May. Metro is safe but is rather grungy and looks like they haven't spent a peso on upkeep since they opened.
I noticed that 1 million guarantee, will miss the start by a day. I might play the one at Metro. 50/100 is fine for me, I don't know if I'll be doing that much grinding, depends how these girls from DIA works out. lol

Any grinders in Manila right now feel free to shoot me a PM.

BDO only charges $5 to transfer in $2k........... thats frigging great

how can i change my PI bank to my primary bank on moneybookers? right now my cambo bank is and when i try to switch (for a slightly smaller fee) it says "you cant change your primary bank until you have a bank from your country of residence" but i already have that

so do they mean that your primary bank has to be from your country of residence and just phrase it in a weird way?

I don't think Moneybookers to PI bank account is allowed if its for gaming purposes.

I'd check out one greenbelt hotel for something decent but not shangri-la expensive.

On a different note, I checked out Solaire casino last night... Everything is new and clean, property and casino floor seemed spacious relative to other casinos. All the food seemed expensive (buffet dinner at PHP 2100) but the only speciality restaurant that seemed to have much character was Strip Steakhouse... hope to get a business dinner there soon. Rewards club doesn't offer match play or anything fun .

This hotel is fine, right by greenbelt, rooms a bit small but brand new, clean, modern, all that good stuff, nice and quiet but right net to GB. I would defo stay there again.

Any info regarding poker there? Are they planing to add a room in the future?

It seems damn expensive in general and I have no idea how they want to get people away from Macau with the current price levels.

Probably lots of locals there for "tax minimization" purposes in a nice setting though I guess

An AC poker update

I played at Double A's, Century and wild aces yesterday.

Wild Aces is a joke of a room now. Cuba Cuba has closed down for the next 6 weeks and with Double A's running tournaments they are struggling to get the local expats. I played the tournament there yesterday arriving at 5pm just before the add on break. They are struggling to get players and to hit guarantees. I'm sure they are skimming. They also now have a bad beat jackpot on the 25/50. Its about 600,000 at the moment but they are raking an extra 100 pesos a pot.

I wouldn't be confident of seeing that money if its won.

Double A's

They are running a well structured 50k GTE 2000 freezeout with re entries four times a week. I haven't yet played one as i'm sleeping during the day at the moment. Yesterday they got about 35 runners with top 6 paid. Most of the people playing were the local expats + Korean regulars with a few of the better Filipinos there. think it was 23k to first. This place at the moment looks really good in terms of atmosphere and lack of collusion.

They had a 25/50 game running which i played for a bit. Standard Angeles cash game. Will check out what the action is like on a friday or saturday night. See if they get some drunks coming into splash around. Don't know if the 50/100 has been running.

This room is no smoking whilst the tournament is still running and any drink you want is free whilst playing cash.

Century

They had a monthly 1000p rebuy. The best thing about this room is the quality of the dealers. All female and 80% of them were of a fantastic quality. I was bored so went at 4:30pm after I saw a facebook message saying they had cash games running. It's in Casino Filipino so was expecting a juicy game. There were nine Filipinos playing so I asked for a seat lots of tagalog later am told they don't want to play ten handed. I would say this is the least organised of the rooms that i'd seen. It should have really juicy games it being inside a massive casino and all. But doesn't look like they get any walk ins. I'd avoid it.

I have been also couple of days in Angeles and played Wild aces and double a's(they had still tournament running and ppl where smoking in cash games at least so i don't think it is no smoking). I think the 20/40 was more juicier in wild aces than 25/50 on double A(or i just had amazing card rush). Overal i think games are pretty good though i was bit shocked that they can smoke in table after Cebu and Davao(and Manila).
Will still check the Casino tonight, also heard that there should be couple of other poker rooms here so any info(heard along Mcarthur hwy(but it is so long)) would be nice.

for those that know manila what would the pluses and minus's of living in ortigas be?

seems to be good location right next to makati and cheaper, im sure there are some not nice areas but ive been told you can get a nice place for 15kish....... thoughts?

Casino seemed ok place to play also(even though i lost(coz got set up at the end(KKvsAAvsAKs))... Went there 7pm 2nd table of 25/50 just opened though died pretty soon... Good action when tables where combined even though almost all 'locals'. They were running some 'table opening' promos so guess the tables open pretty early there

Metro is in ortigas(quess not mus plus for you) and it is pretty nice area

Minus: traffic, price, congestion. Very little fresh air or green areas. Not a nice place to walk around. Some chance of crime.

Plus: Near commercial areas, offices if you work there. Places to dine and drink late. Relatively clean.

Not gonna do a big writeup because what's the point. Ortigas in general is fine but most parts suck, pretty sure you wouldn't live there.

Didn't see a poker room... I'll check next time. I think they are angling for people with Macau visa issues... not sure if that''ll work out.

I think Mandaluyong would be a better choice than Ortigas.

It might be difficult to find one that meets your rigorous standards.

It comes from when the 'G.I Joes' were there back in the day, in those days the vast majority of white men were 'GI's'. Very common to still get called joe if you are white. Usually they just wanna get your attention and say hi.

I find it really funny when they shout hey Joe at me. Happens a lot when you get right out of town. I was trying to think of a name I could shout back but couldn't do it without sounding racist.
