hmmm
Try Metrobank, they probably have the softest requirements. Bear in mind though that the different branches can/will give you different requirements (and this obv applies for almost all banks in PI).

One might require an ACR while another will accept just a valid ID+passport etc etc.

Alright guys so I just moved and need to get rid of my old place/aircons, Ill give you the aircons for FREE but you have to pay the last months rent (13,5k pesos), there is 1month 9days left on the contract (the 9 days are already paid for). After that you can either extend the lease or sell the aircons.

First come first served, want to be done with these aircons asap.. Cant bother finding someone to separately buy them unless absolutely necessary (hence why Im posting here obv)..

Check this thread for more info, PM me if youre interested or have questions

Hi,

I'm poker pro living actually in taipei.

I've been living in asia since 5 years already, mostly Bangkok.

I'm planning to go to philippines for chill out at the beach in 1/2 weeks.
I've been told, that i should go to boracay, any advice about where i should go ? is it really where the place ?

I kind of miss Thai beach, so i'm looking for a good looking beach for take a break.
And also for some wild night life when i want to have some fun (i'm not into hooker).

I was planning to stay 5 days there, is it too much, too few ?

What would you advise me ?

I've been mooving around since years in asia (Hongkong, china, taiwan, Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, maybe few other that i forgot), my favorite place are Bangkok,Taipei and hongkong/indonesia (if that can help).

This, try a different a different branch of BPI. I may not be a good example but I opened my dollar and peso accounts with only a US driver license. Didn't even have my passport at the time as it had been submitted as part of my ongoing visa process. Like I say may not be a good example as I was also able to show them a certificate of employment from company's local office and previous US paystubs from same company. But really got impression they were more interested in the benjamins I was depositing.

Probably costs more unless you're transferring a much larger amount than $100.

You really should be able to find a bank that will lets you open a USD account, though. Just make sure they don't mistake you for a tweaker--shave, shower and wear the nicest clothes you can muster and keep trying bank branches. One BDO branch saying they need X doesn't mean that the next one won't accept Y. You can try some of the 2nd tier banks like Chinabank, too.

Alright, so just over a month left on the contract now. And to clarify, you will get the aircons for FREE if you take it now and pay the last months rent.

(The aircons themselves are worth about the same as the monthly rent so its a win win since Im not going to be staying there anyway, and then I wont have to find someone to buy the aircons..)

Thought this offer would be taken within a day since its such a no-brainer if you want to go to Cebu, but have yet to find anyone seriously interested yet.

the old free aircon thing dont mean much, all anyone is gonna have when they move out is the same thing you have, two aircons you need to unistall and find a buyer for.

His offer is damn good if you ask me. Aircons are super easy to sell as long as they work and you market them right. Even if you only get like 6k from the sales you are effectively only paying 7.5k for a month's rent. I would do it myself if it was in July.

went to one metro bank they said i needed ACR card

went to another they just said i needed to have them mail me a letter that i would bring back to them to prove address and bring my passport, BUT i have to deposit $500 to open the account and that cant be deposited through a transfer, so i would have to pay $25 to withdraw pesos and then pay another $20ish (i dunno how much but that sounds about right) to transfer back to USD

not sure why they wont let me fund the account with a transfer, she said i could transfer to the counter there but moneybookers wont do that (i dont think at least) so again hmmmmmmm

Well, one aircon I bought new myself for 12k in Aug last year, and the other one is around 2-3 years old samsung I think. so I should be able to resell them for just about the same amount as the rent IMO. But would happily avoid dealing with pinoys unless I have to.

I am considering going now in May/June, anyone interested in joining? I was thinking Cebu for at least 3 months. I am swedish and I play mostly HUSNGs. I enjoy everything between long walks, gym, self improvement, occasional sports like volleyball, soccer - to partying, picking up girls, music, games and trying out new stuff. I prefer playing when sitting at the computer and when I am not, I want to be ouside, I want to laugh and I want to enjoy myself.

Don't hesitate to PM/E-mail me if you feel that we can be a good fit to have an epic time in Asia. If you are 2-4 guys already looking to recruit more to your gang I am all for that too . I can go alone, but it would probably be way more fun if I lived close to other grinder(s).

We are about 10 grinders or so in Cebu ATM. So we do meet up occasionally for dinners and other stuff. Not as much partying as before though.

Most of us are living separately in apartments/houses so not so much pokerhouses going right now, so feel free to start one if you want :-). I think we had like 3-4 houses going at one point last year.

It's not black and white like that. There are certain things that justify living in Cebu but I rarely hear people mention them.

But the things that are better in Cebu are quite obvious (thinking primarily about traffic, pollution etc).

And then I guess nightlife/live games might be slightly better in Manila. Although I didn't like the nightlife myself when I was in Manila, but with proper guidance I guess it could be good.

disorienter u definitely should check both places out with your own eyes before committing, cheap enough to stay in hotels for a week in each and costs $45 to fly from one to the other

no reason to blindly make up your mind where you are gonna stay ahead of time

Can anyone give me any advice on what deposit methods are working for Stars in PH? I've heard the normal bank debit cards don't work, has anyone had any luck with the BPI ePrepaid Visa or Unionbank Eon prepaid card?
