No, it doesn't have to be within the visa period. I have used ones way ahead of time several times. (Think I had one 10 months ahead last time)

why though? if you transfer 100 from stars to your bank shouldnt it just show up as 100 in the bank?

and where do you transfer euros for pesos? when i walk by any money changer they only have the numbers up for USD and HKD

Stars doesn't send in USD. It sends a wire in euro and the receiving bank converts it. When I withdraw to my USD account, I lose between 2%-4% in the conversion. (Actually it's narrower than that range, but on the pessimistic side you can estimate less than 4%).

If you have a euro or USD bank account, you can withdraw in pesos. Don't withdraw pesos from ATM (if your account is foreign currency) if you want the best rate. For big amounts ask at the bank or withdraw the currency then go to a money changer. Money changers deal with a lot of other currencies too. Go to a money changer in a mall.

PartyPoker sends wire transfer in USD, but at a $10 flat charge.

I presume it 'works' with banks, but they don't do online gaming transactions for Philippines-based accounts as far as I know.

Yes, moneybookers doesn't allow gambling transactions in PI. Be careful not to get your MB account perma-banned.

Linking only for withdraws (adding your PI account in the bank accounts section and only withdrawing to it) is no issue on MB

Yes, you might be right, but isn't withdraw/deposit to the sites banned?

I was flying to Manila on CebuPacific from Bangkok. The ticket agent at the Bangkok airport would not check me through until I showed him my ticket from PI back to North America. I had to run across Suvarnabhumi airport to get the print out of my ticket from PI to NA. That's the only time i've ever been asked. I've flown from NA to PI many times and never asked to provide my return ticket.

Yeah it's depositing from MB -> gambling sites from an account with a PI address that isn't allowed.

players just make one large deposit once from a MB account set up elsewhere, then add a PI / thai account in their name, and just use MB for withdraws only

hmmm i am rooting for jspill to be right here

i thought i had made a withdrawal from party to moneybookers from PI but i guess that was from thailand

so jspill if i set up a PI bank account i can withdraw from poker site to MB and from moneybooker to bank correct?

one more question: since my address is cambo do oyu think i could deposit from mb to a pokersite with no issues??

thanks thanks thanks

yeah if sending from site -> MB isn't illegal in the country your MB account is based in, it's fine

the 2nd step MB -> PI bank is then not considered gambling related funds

just don't attempt PI bank -> MB

A few things:

1. Anyone who is moving to Manila- do not get a fixed land line with Sky- biggest rip off ever. Pay 4k internet barely works from 7-12pm. I am not paying my bills- lets see what happens.

2. 4G sticks are the way forward. Globe does a 4G 42mps pocket wifi for less than 2K per month. Much better (consider booster cable too for permanent fix).

3. Some really crappy soft playing at resorts at the moment. Friend played there during APT and he saw the nuts vs second nuts checked in position twice. Floor did NOTHING. It happened to me last weekend too. Change table and bitch to the floor.

How reliable is the Globe 4G and what speeds are you getting?

I had sky and i rate the service i got 5stars. Always quick internet and decent TV package. If you dont pay your bills they will cut the service and keep the deposit. Not to much drama gonna go down there.

went to 3 banks yesterday this is what i was told:

all 3 i needed to have an ACR card to open

citibank: can open with ACR and any other form of ID, but for a dollar account you must maintain a minimum balance of $2500

BDO: ACR card + one other form of ID but must open a peso account for 3 months before you can get dollar, $500 min balance

BPI: must have ACR card + one other form of ID + some sort of utility bill, $200 minimum balance

FML how can i get a utility bill?

You need an ACR-I card to get a utility bill, lol. If you're staying in Philippines for awhile, then you're required to get one anyway.

HSBC Advance only required passport+driver's license, but minimum balance is 100000 php equivalent or they fine you 400 php/month or something.

For anyone that misses proper beer G-point have started brewing there own. Pretty decently priced at 50p happy hour and 80p regular. They have four different ones at the moment and they are all rather tasty.
