good rule of thumb imo:

if you're going as a tourist, a few days or weeks, tip the girl 300 for average service, 500 for good service, nothing for failing to fulfill her duties. you won't stand out in the crowd. you won't get labeled super kuripot. you will just be another guy. if you do that and treat them well you can have your pick most nights. play the game the way it's set up. don't rock the boat. spend some money. enjoy yourself.

if you're playing the long game it's way different. then you can play the no tipping card, sneakouts only, mall pickups, facebook, ym, friend referral game. but this stuff isn't for new tourists. the bar system may have a lot of ****ty detractors, but most (not all!) bars are a safer haven for tourists to conduct this business. you need to have lots of experience to effectively run the long game. advising a tourist in his first week to do so is not smart imo.

and honestly, one of the benefits of tipping is that it's a sign to get her out the door. k2d is far more likely to have the problem of girls wanting to stay way too long (80%+) of my experiences ended like this. you play the game. you don't abuse them. they think you may be a sucker. then you tip and they leave and you can go on never seeing them again. if you do this with a regular girl you're asking for trouble. win/win.

I've come across several guys while over there who have the same philosophy on not tipping.

Basically, they all have a few things in common.

Extremely inflated sense of ego, view the girls as less than human, refer to every girl they've recently bedded as their "girl friend"

In the game of PI p4p, a tip is ALWAYS expected after an acceptable session (you came)

NONE of these girls would work if NOBODY tipped. YOU are not any more "fun" to them than any other 60 year old slob... get over yourself

I never said anything about having a bargirl as a gf k2d. That would be completely different again.

so last nights was the same as tuesday nights, she was great fun tuesday bad mood yesterday that sorta killed the vibe, i guess its cuz i tipped!

only tipped half as much last night, almost didnt give anything, probably shouldnt have

from what ive been reading on other boards anyone whose coming over here should read and re-read loosekannes post like 5 times and get that through your head, thats pretty much exactly what the hardcore longtimers on some of the sexpat boards are saying me, loosekannen knows his stuff

Of course it's easy for us all to forget, that they are saying the same exact lines to all of us foreigners and so it really is worth a grain of salt.
its not easy for me to forget, vegas girls are stone cold killers that have no problems letting you know what you really are, plus sometimes when i get out of the shower i see myself naked in the mirror

one thing though i am extremely pale, like if lying on a bed with white sheets u might not see me pale, and i think that somehow the girls over here actually do mean it when they say they like that because they are so obsessed with trying to be as lite as possible

one girl who had perfect tan skin that any american girl would kill for is telling me how she wishes she could have my skin

its a whole different world over here

anyone have any experience with luckbox888??? my spidy senses are tingling telling me that he may be one of those guys that ive been warned might be a rip off artist on this site

i could be way off, and maybe he is just a really nice guy offering to help, but back when i initially said i was moving to PI and was askin about green stuff he offered to help, and now he is saying he can help me out in cambodia......... even from his initial message months ago it seemed fishy for some reason but now add that he can help me out with a cheap place to stay in cambo also...........

been smokin every day for over 10 years, a little ditch weed sprinkled on top of my pizza aint gonna cut it

i remember reading about being charged $20 to fly out of PI, when i booked i was charged a $20 airport fee, is there going to be an additional charge when i am there?

gotta say im pretty nervous about cambo, so little information out there about the place, some people say its hell on earth and im gonna get stabbed or robbed or any of 1,000 awful diseases, others say its great or a bit nicer than PI at least, really hope sihinouk is nice enough that i can settle in there for awhile cuz traveling is horrible

and then theres gonna be getting the bank going and funding stars when no one else out there to give assistance, lots of trial and error coming, hopefully not to much error on my roll

also the fact that the guy who started the cambo thread disappeared a month later to never be heard from again........

just walked to and fro the citibank and to a moneychanger with $500+ in the pocket, feels much safer than i was expecting

anyways got 40.44 on my withdrawal from the ATM, current rate is 40.75 at money changers, and ive been told that citibank atm has the best rates in town, checked online to see if i had any fees none yet but we shall see

.3 isnt that big a deal i guess, like .75 cents per $100 if my math is right

still pissed that the peeps at the citibanks in the states lied right to my face though

OMG days are sooooo boring, need online poker to give me something to do, or green stuff to make me forget how bored i am, but prison dont sound fun

just now realized that the exchange rate is 41.75 not 40.75, so its not .3 its 1.3 per dollar

quite a bit more furious at the dudes who lied to me at citibank, sending them hateful message telling them if they dont rectify this situation that im going to start banking elsewhere, when they do nothing about it i will do nothing about it because i cant

****in skeevy bastards piss poor 3rd world countries arent the only places that scam

you will get charged an additional i think 800~ pesos for leaving PI at the airport. hell u get taxed at the airport whenever you fly even within the country.

my god K2D your a penny pincher. I was going to call you frugal. but im not sure your like a level or 2 above that lol. Still can't believe some people are so cheap in foreign countries. kinda tilting. anyways besides the obvious. do enjoy reading your posts

BTW whenever I was bored in PI. I would go to timezone. Play that basketball game. Man for 1000 php you could have boat loads of fun! I'm just a kid though not sure how old you are.

ATM should give you the best or similar rates to banks. personally BDO gives the best rates based on my experience ( was told by my phillipino guide as well). beats money changers for sure.

and good luck in PP. do look forward to ur updates. will you be posting on this thread? though i do think your way over your head. your just too under prepared in my opinion. i don't see the peace of mind that you should be having when in a foreign country (ie money issues). I can kind of relate to you cause I was in some sort of way in a similar situation to you 6 months back.

i just realized that for the $500 i withdrew at citibank i was charged $20 in fees.......

un-friggin-believable time to get a different bank going, im actually in shock right now, go into a branch, have a face to face talk, guy checks with his manager and says yes you can withdraw $USD, i say i dont think so he makes a call and is told yes u can, and now im on the other side of the world with no options

not exactly sure what my options are at this point, transfer the money to another US bank i guess, wow wow wow

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

2+2=3.5 im not playing because i cant, its not like u just land in a foreign country and stars gets your account back up, o how i wish it were that easy, u gotta jump through hoops make a half court shot swim 17 laps and get pdiddy some cambodian breast milk, but hey at least ill be in cambodia so that milk will be easy to find

ambitious yes im a penny pincher, i have to be, im even more of a penny pincher then it comes across in this thread, yet i still know TO TIP THE DAMN GIRLS

@K2d
just looked at Citybank
i think you need to set up a Citybank account in dollars in the country you will be staying to get the fee free withdrawal for dollars. If you look on there web page it's easy to get it wrong . Sucks if they told you different.
If Citybank has branches in cambodia and you can open account there , you should be ok. ( dont take my word for this )

no citibanks in cambodia, they have them in thailand and PI

i have to get an ACR card to set up a citibank account here, btw ive been asking around in person here but not getting an answer, is it possible to get the ACR card before you are here for 60 days? or do you have to wait to get it?

i just had a month and a half long losing streak at poker where i lost half my roll and think i made about $500 in total mistakes, and im pretty sure im more pissed off about the bank lying to me and potentially taking like $150 in fees than i am about losing the 5k at the tables.......... if anyone wants to blow up the citibank at maryland and flamingo in LV for me i will pay them back with a similar favor in the future

gonna have to tip big tonight the poor girls gonna get 3 inches of kinda hard dk furiously pounded into her for like 45 seconds every 30 or so minutes, feel sorry for her already

supposedly cambodia has no postal system, so how can i get a charles schwab card mailed to me in a country with no postal system?

im pretty sure they wont mail them overseas to a hotel anyways, but hey i gotta ask right

already sent 1 ranting email to citibank, after they tell me they wont do anything im going to send them another one saying if they dont cancel the fees i will transfer all funds to a different bank (which i will do out of spite even though im sure bank of america will have the same hidden fees) and go to every message board ever created and spam over and over how they lied to me and never trust citibank and close out your account etc etc etc, will be interesting to see if they just eat the fees or take the bad word of mouth, im sure they arent gonna cancel the fees but F them

ya im not sure anyones ever been more mad over less than $200
