Rockwell Leasing department? Just go there directly. Wouldn't recommend Rockwell for short term though, short term rates are too high.

One-way international flights from the US are generally like that, almost the same cost as flying roundtrip.

P.S. Manila*

Dont track things that well tbh but I'm pretty sure about the £2k total, sometimes its £2.5k for total monthly spending. I included things like drinks there as well, like to keep a nice stock of juices and beer.

You're pretty close to the Rizal immigration office. It's in Taytay. You can look up the exact location. The provincial immigration offices are not busy at all. I was in and out in like 30 minutes every time I went there.

^^ +1rirrion!

I only flew from bk to mans on them terrifying, planes are 30+years old and full of dirty tired flip overseas workers who have no idea about personal space. Mini rant over sorry theat flight was so awful.

Anyways, this thread is almost too big now and me being lazy i will just re-ask a question;

Can anyone recommend (if one exists) a decentish serviced apartment for a months stay, around the 1k U.S mark, closer to Makati as possible ldo..

Thankyou and please forgive my laziness.

Ok another lazy bastard here.

Read through the entire thread a few months ago, and I remember there was some thorough post about how to minimize your costs when living in the PI. If anyone knows on what page I can find it I would be very glad if you could let me know.

Thanks in advance.

The only thing I could even consider doing on that list is cooking instead of eating out. But that is, with the help of the maid. No way that I would cook my own food, that is just a waste of my valueble time.

Saving money in the Philippines is something you learn with time.

First few months I was spending ****loads, but since then my spending has been going down 15-20% each year.

Step 1 would be to get an unfurnished place and buy your own furniture. The initial investment will be significant but this will save you a lot of money long term.

+1!

Unfurnished apartments can be picked up really cheap.

Do they even have mid-range proper serviced apartments in Manila? All i can find is high end hotels, offering serviced apts and they are not even apts! and are $100+ a day. is this nothing like the type of thing you get in bkk?

I am searching the web but its all a bit over whelming. I might cry

www.housinginteractive.com and ask them if they can provide daily maid service on a one month place. Also, you can try pearls letting agency (google it) and do the same thing. I know fanapathy wasn't happy with the latter though, although I've used them and had no problems. They overcharge for electricity but are pretty upfront about it.
