I would say the fort is the place to be for clubbin but I didnt really get a chance to go to greenbelt area. Philippines is about the new fad/trend so I would check out embassy(trance?) and ascend(rnb top40). Also warehouse 135 I heard is good. If youre into kitty bar check out KHUYA in cubao but beware as I heard there are too many pick pockets in the area. Some b1tch even offered pussy for 6 bucks lol but Im not into that.

I prefer North American food myself, but as long as you are in a city area, that is available to you.

Just stay away from Pizza and steak there. I ordered a pizza from Dominos and Yellow Cab Pizza and they were both disgusting..

Don Enricco's is really good. Pizza Hut tastes just like in Canada or US. McDonalds tastes the same everywhere. Never tried Dominos or Yellow Cab.

My experience with steak was ok there.

Really, I think the pizza at Yellow Cab is pretty good, Pizza Hut is like mentioned before similar to in the US, don't know about Dominos though.

For steaks I really like the one at G-Point in Malate, it's a place with Swedish food and the plank steak there is really good in my opinion. I believe the same owner also has a restaurant in Barrio Baretto outside Olongapo up there in the Subic Bay. I also had a good steak at in Greenbelt once, but I forget the name of the restaurant. In general I'd have to agree that steaks in the Philippines are pretty poor though.

One thing I miss here is real good Mexican food, anyone ever found a good restaurant for that?

I've heard that sometime this is a ploy of some sort, usually to extract money from the hapless victim, but she knows I wouldn't send her any cash.(I've told her not to ask because I wouldn't give send her any)

DNA tests are not that big here in the Phils, it's going to be more of a moral/ethical issue whether you take responsibility for the child (if it is yours) or just go invisible and treat it as nothing happened. (sorry to the single mom) Up to you LH.

It's possible to just take a pice of hair from the child when it's born and send it to a lab in say the US, I met a guy who did that recently and it only took a couple of weeks. The child turned out to be his so he's supporting, which is the only right thing to do imo, even though he broke up with the girl.

the pizza is crap, yellow cab used to be good. Have you tried brooklyn pizza? their white cheese pizza is good. I'm not a fan of eating steaks at restos unless I'm sure of the quality and taste according to feedback from friends/family. If you guys aren't too lazy, purchase quality meats at Santi's Deli (rockwell, San antonio near Forbes along mckinley, annapolis) they have high quality meats so just buy 'em, pop'em in the grill for good eats.

Re: Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?

I went and tried to open a bank account today, and I was told I had to have an ACR (Alien Registration Certificate) to open one. I've been looking into it a little bit on the web, and I believe I could get one but it'd costs a lot of time and money it seems. So I'm wondering if anyone has successfully opened an accout here in the Philippines without an ACR recently, and if so in which bank?

I know a friend of mine opened an account in the same bank I went to today, PS Bank, a couple of years ago without the ACR, so I'm hoping there might be some banks that still do not require this.

Who's playing the APT in Manila by the way? They have a one mill US price pool guaranteed, and I'm real curious about who all of these 400 plus players will be. Any less and there'll be an overlay

Xbox 360s and Nintendo Wiis are significantly more expensive there, right? Routers too? What else is expensive there that I should be bringing with me? I'm almost ready to move and I don't want to forget anything.

Electronics are the one thing that is significantly more expensive down there. Smokes and booze way cheaper. Clothes will be comparable to U.S. prices for your familiar brands.

I just read through this whole thread and cannot believe that no one mentioned the LA Cafe in Ermita!

Despite the fact you can basically pick the female you are interested in (ratio female to male 15-1) the whole experience is surreal to say the least.

I have a house in Davao City complete with wife and kids but am stuck in Canada because on my last trip I spent around a million pesos in 8 months and had to come back and reload.

Really envy you guys that are making dough there and living the life!

PaulB mentioned LA Cafe in a different thread, but it was locked.. I wish I would have known about this joint before I went there in April.

How is the overall talent in this place? I'm guessing it ranges from bottom feeders to hot gals who need help with their tuition ..

They run the whole spectrum...the chicks upstairs are hotter but can be a bit stuck up. If you have any game, however, its like shooting minnows in a rain barrel with a bazooka.

Downstars they will swarm you but a simple "Sorry honey..but youre not my type" gets them off your back.

I have only been there twice, but even if you are not looking to get laid the dynamics of the place make it a must visit.

I guess it gets old if you live there. Personally, I dont think I would EVER tire of seeing filipinas hunting their prey in a venue like this! I wish Davao had a joint like that.

Erm...scratch that,,the bamboo telegraph would have me busted and my balls in a jar in 24 hours!~

For a reg tourist no visa needed upon entry, but after 21 days you have to register for an extension. They will then extend it to 59 days (cost is about
50 bucks)

If you exceed 59 days you have to renew your status every 2 months (again...at a cost of about 50 bucks)

If you REALLY like it there and want to stay indefinitely you can up to 2 years.
After that you are required to leave the country for 24 hours.
