Speed dating sounds fun.

Manila does get some pretty big games going when there's a big tournament in town. Seems a bit over saturated at the moment though as there's a tournament every month so the players aren't as concentrated.

Adjusted,

Thanks for the info. I have to do a visa run from Thailand in the next little while so may go to Philippines instead of Macau for that one.

That's why I'm here. I decided to stay for 2 weeks and play the Megastacks event at COD. I'm on a visa run from Hua Hin.

one other piece of info, apparently the rake at City of Dreams is 10% and it's 5% at Solaire. that's a substantial difference!

Both should be 10%... But they take the additional 50pesos for jackpot at CoD... Resort's world is 5% but same rake caps(for same stakes)

Wow.... are the beaches in Philippines are more beautiful than those in Australia? I'd planned to go there for a few days and I also wonder if it is safe for a girl travelling alone.

Would not recommend traveling alone as a female in the Philippines. Beaches are much better then Australia, Palawan is amazing.

If you have been playing live tournament in Manila you may know Wally Sombero. He did a lot in the past to develop the game in the country. He is now facing arrest for his implication in Jack Lam Case: http://somuchpoker.com/wally-the-dre...jack-lam-case/

Anyone know how the 100/200/500nl action is at lucky fish? Is 50$/hr doable for a solid player? Also, do they have player boxes or do people just bring cash with them? I'm looking to grind for a couple weeks there for while on vacation. Thanks.

At 20 hands/hr and a big blind at 500php you need to win at 25 bb/100 for that hourly. If you can do that, only you can answer.

If you factor in travel time, waiting time for a seat/table to open etc I can say for sure that your hourly will be nowhere near your goal of 50$/hr...

I don't think they have anything bigger than 100-200 nl, if they are still open. You can keep cash at resorts world across the street.

I didn't notice any difference, if I hadn't read about it online I'd have no idea. But I was just hanging out in the tourist nightlife areas

While I was there, 2 ISIS bombers were caught trying to detonate a bomb on Roxas Blvd(just down the street from me). I never heard anything about it until I stumbled upon this YT video:

Dunno if this will affect Pokerstars but they don't like to operate in grey markets.

He's talking about online gambling operators based in the Philippines in the full article. As long as he's not talking new legislation I don't think it would affect Stars..
