Less dumpy IMO. IT park is a very nice area, but they are building a big shopping center there now and I'm afraid the traffic will get terrible when it's finished.

Manila is a big place.
Cebu is a less of a big place.

Best Places in manila (BGC) are nicer than the best places in cebu (i.t park).
The worst places where some foreigners will go in manila is worse than the worst places foreigners go in cebu.

The nightlife is 5x better in manila than it is in cebu.
People are friendlier in cebu than in manila.
Food is better in manila than cebu
Come across a lot less beggers/scammy people in cebu.
The air is a billion times better in cebu compared to manila (although people in cebu say its polluted, you immediately notice the difference walking out side)

Traffic is worse in manila than it is in cebu. Although getting worse as time goes on in cebu.

Totally depends where youre planning to stay in manila to answer your question. I.t park is nicer than makati, but its a lot more boring and smaller.
I.t park has like max 5 bars? Realistically only three

It's in a weird spot just outside of Remedios proper but still kind of on the circle. It was very tight in there like a "card house" room but very local club feeling.

I personally did not like it. (several years ago though)

It felt like it could be sketchy walking out of there unlike Metro and other Manila venues.

Hey all,

I am planning to relocate with my girlfriend to the Phillippines for ~6months starting in November. We have been living in DaNang Vietnam for the last 2 years, looking for the most remote areas/small cities where I could sort out good enough internet to grind. Not a fan of Manilla, BKK, Cebu city etc is an understatement. Love hiking and being in nature and ride scooters around when I'm not grinding. Really like Moalboal when was travelling, but seems like we have a small chance of landing good enough internet there coming from not poker related sources. Dumaguete has been recommended for us. Any inputs? Is there anyone who doesnt live in Angeles/Manilla/Cebu city and grinds online?

Cheers,
Artour

Davao might be place for you... It is big city also... But there is mountains and island beaches near(around 1hour). Fiber internet is also quite well spread nowadays. I also would recommend Cagayn de Oro for you and there is also other nice islands... but yea internet will be problem if you go more remote

Bohol was the smallest I could find to appeal to both goals of being a little remote (more is not possible, unfortunately ) while still having a solid enough wifi to grind (I had to really look around, test numerous wifi connections ). I did grind a month on Siquijor as well, but I only managed to find a single room where the connection was stable enough to grind. Dumaguette might be to big for your liking, but wifi is solid enough there. And forget Palawan.

Check out Segada. Small town in the mountains with good weather and hash is prevalent.
It's got like a 10pm curfew or something but definitely quiet ;-)

Maybe boracay, if I had a girlfriend I'd go there, stayed at oceanway residences on airbnb and it had a private beach, golf, and boracay has some nature stuff to do. Wifi was ok.

I have booked my flights for 17th September with the plan to stay 6 months initially. Trying to look for an apartment although it has been pretty slow with communication. Looking to spend up to around 45k per month for a decent apartment with a solid internet connection and convenient access to casino if anybody know of anything around. Just want something that'll be smooth so I don't have a lot of downtime while relocating which is what I'm a bit worried about with trying to search online through rental websites.

I assume you talking about Manila. Well if you want near casino, there is Many condos(solemare, shell) near city of Dreams and Solaire casinos near Mall of Asia. This place is called ASEANA and is near Pasay and Paranaque. Not sure if they allready have fiber internet there but should be pretty easy to find place in that price or even cheaper.
Or if resorts world near airport is enough for you then there is area called newport, also PAsay.
I personally found one bedroom for 23k for 6months by just walking in Solemare and asking if there was rooms and they called some agent there to show me few rooms and i was able to move in next day. But this was couple of years ago(prices probably gone up and back then didnt have fiber internet) and dont work for every condo. So perhaps you should find some agent online and schedule meeting with them and ask how fast you can move in. And remember to have return flight(even fake one) when you come here even if you don't intend to use it

Airbnb is the smoothest option just find a listing at either sea residences, shell residences, or solemare parksuites (3 condos near the casinos) with positive reviews and put in your dates so it factors in long stay discount. Or if you don't need to be that close to the casinos, gramercy residences is in a more interesting part of town. If you look using rental websites the place probably won't have internet set up and you'd have to deal with signing contracts which might be a year minimum

Does anyone know if you can buy in with USD at any of the pokerrooms or is it only PHP?

you need to buy PHP first, then you can play.
I never experienced or heard from something else.

Ok, thanks. Do you know if that can be done at the casino? Annoying how hard you get fkd with the exchange rates

Yea can be done in the casino without problems.all of them have exchangers.
If you need to get rid off php after your stay, let me know.
I can always buy php with cryptos if you want.

RTFT. You can change at every casino, but they will often give you a bad rate. Shop around in town

Thanks, I might just take you up on that if I don't run like **** my entire stay lol.

So if I want to play mostly 50/100, 100/200 my options are Resorts world, Okada and Metro running 24/7 plus Masters & Dynasty running just in the evenings or is my info outdated?
