phils has a lot of soft $100 and $200 NLHE games, I'd imagine it's one of the better asian choices for live low stakes no limit. not sure how the $500 NL + is.

Should you go through an agent for apartments? Those cost a bomb though 😭, at taft the apartments are like 1/2 price. And who knows, staying at a student area might pay off in other ways 😏.

First trip to the Philippines in April. Looking for the same advice im sure you've given out a ton by now...

1. Poker. Looking to get in a few sessions. Normally a 1/3 or 2/5 player. Nl or plo. Where do i look? Currently looking to stay at Solaire or COD nobu. Decent? American living and playing in Korea currently so somewhat used to playing in a different country.

2. Stuff to do in Manila? 25-30yr old group of males. Bars/food/clubs whatever your 2cents would be an interesting insight

3. Things to do in coron?

City of Dreams doesn't have poker. Okada, Resorts World, and Solaire all have poker. Okada doesn't get started until the afternoon.

Solaire is severly overpriced too (like most casino hotels) but I'm sure it is nice. A hotel like Solaire would be worth 100ish/nt on weekends in the Manila area, the rest you're paying for the convenience of staying in the casino hotel. If that is ok with you, it's all fine, I just never bothered because you can get a perfectly nice hotel in the vicinity for 50-60ish even on weekends

I've not been there but it looks nice and gets good reviews on google. It's not that close though, maybe look into the Conrad which is the same level and much closer to Solaire. But that's only if you require a 5*, my go-to hotel in the area is usually Golden Phoenix which is a perfectly fine 4* and much cheaper. But there are several others, Wyndham, 101, Tryp etc.
If you want to go to Solaire a lot, I'd just recommend not to take something that is on the other side of the highway (Roxas Blvd) because to cross that one will take forever in the usual madness on the road (think of it like LA, maybe even worse)

If you're going 5 star then I'd say COD or Okada (never stayed at Okada). If you don't want to splurge a bit there's far better value for the price.

If you're planning to play poker at night you can always stay in Makati too, but you'll be trapped there until traffic dies down which can be late.
