Coming to Manila for a couple of months, few questions:

a) Is the 10k PHP limit actually ever enforced/checked? Have like 20k from a previous trip which I didn't bother exchanging.

b) Any suggestions for a money changer to change about 40k HKD and 1k CAD to PHP? (near makati or casinos preferably)

c) Is it easier to extend to a 59 day visa at the airport or just to do it at the immigration office?

Thanks, and sorry if any of these have been answered previously!

c) You should be able to get it from airport also(at least Manila), i did it once(though was over one year ago), just look for visa arrival before passport stamp or ask the officer... Was little less than 3k... Though they said it is effected by dollar rate... so might be more now

maybe ive become a huge lifenit. but how the hell is anytime fitness on jupiter quoting me 7500 for 1 month?

The best gyms in england which have swimming pools + tennis courts + huge gym costs that much. Not a small branch anytime fitness.

Guess its time to get over my fears of going to the gym when other people are there and go to the one at KB. got to try find quiet times

lifting iron and putting it back in the same place is not very popular so they can charge as much as they want for enthusiasts

Anytime Fitness is only 2700/month + startup fee for 6 mo. contract.

The Jupiter branch sucks. Even off-peak hours they don't have enough barbells, racks or plates.

A) you can bring and exit with 50k php nowadays

C) expensive to exit without having extended visa .. But easy to get extension, BGC immigration office at SM aura is a lot better than makati office (new and 30min wait if make rush payment 500p or something & get visa same day)

Sounds same as makati.

New sitcom office now and 30min wait but may have to come back next day to pick up passport if you don’t pay the fee.

Selling Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini for 2k pesos as I got a new phone. Includes USB cable and back cover.

Fully functional. The screen is in very good condition with no scratches. There's a small crack in the top (not part of the screen) that doesn't affect the functionality of the phone. The backside has signs of usage as seen in the pics.

Meet up in Makati, BGC or SM Megamall.

Hi guys - Can anyone recommend some specific places I could stay at short term / long term with reliable internet to play poker on?

I've been staying all over the city the past 9 months, trying to find a good place from Air NB. I tried BGC and Makati. The internet has been with PLDT and Sky cable. I have had 50 mpbs and just got a place at BGC for 2 months with 20 mpbs PLDT. Already the 2nd day here I had disconnects earlier. I haven't found a stable place here yet.

Any suggestions or success stories on playing poker online here? If anyone wants to send me a link for some good places on Air NB I would buy you lunch one day or get a beer with you possibly.
Thanks!

Maybe because I'm staying at some older buildings. I stayed at Forbes wood Heights (pldt 50mbps), Fort Palm Spring (sky cable 8mpbs), and Seibu Tower (here now - PLDT 20mbps). Note: I'm playing on an emulator.

I'm glad to know you guys had better luck than I did so far.

Great to know!

PLDT or what service were you using?

Sky cable was working for me well the past 7 weeks in BGC over at Fort Palm Spring but then the last week it was totally unstable. I asked the reason why and when the owner contacted Sky cable, they said it was due to "noise" in the area.

I just had to pay Philippines travel tax(not terminal fee) first time at the airport! Didn't help that i told i'm just tourist here... Apparently it is for (Almost) every foreigner who has stayed more than one year there... Though i have done that quite few times before... and never had to pay before(or did my good run just end?)... Well it was 1620pesos and i had that exit clearance(obv had to pay for that also) paper also

How much does the exit clearance cost? I have been here 7 months straight this time and I'm leaving in 2 weeks, so I'll need it. You still have to get the clearance at the Immigration office and not the airport, right? I'll report back if they make me pay that Philippines Travel Tax as well.

yea you should go immigration office at least one week before(but not over one month) and have 4 2x2 photos and some photocopies(at least in Davao) ... It cost like 1,2k... Well at least you shouldn't need to pay travel tax... as it was only over one year(though i thought exit clearance was also)

So I have an interesting proposal, willing to pay obviously. See if you can get my girl to give you her number. I'm leaving Manila in a few weeks and want to see if I can trust her while I'm gone. Would be a simple walk up and flirt, ask for number type thing. In BGC. Preferably a white guy, good looking or average at worst. Any takers?
