^^ haha yea it was some kind of 'go down river and meet a local tribe' kinda thing. Was funny, maybe an hour outside of the main village by boat and I guess one family from the tribe has to come everyday to meet the tourists, since their village is suuuuper remote and like a 3 hour walk just to get to the meeting point we were at. They're just naked, its how a lot of indigenous jungle folk live - and then they do this big welcoming dance for people who come to see them. Was prob like $3 donation we gave, and then after the dance they attach all these snakeskin, piranha, animal bracelets on you and try to make you buy em, like $1 each and were actually really cool - but I very rarely buy crap.

Made a little video of some koh phi phi and koh tao cruising. Wish I would film more, so much more cool stuff that would be good on video. Editing blowwws though, waste of days and why I stopped doing any post production. Songkran video coming whenever my comp decides not to barrage me with error messages.

Most stuff apart from action feels too dumb/not high enough quality to post as well. There always seems to be a blurry spot which is fine for cliff jumping, but not really for picturesque views and such.

Skate scene in Cambodia is seriously lacking. Got invited to a place called Skateistan last weekend, which is like a charity of sorts helping street kids in both Afghanistan and Cambodia to give them something to do. Focuses on skating and art and has majority of girls as the kids involved. Kinda cool. Used to be a skate camp counselor for YMCA/Element so might go help them out weekly or so.

Rau... nah, they just give you a form to fill out asking if you have aids, yellow fever, rabies, whatever. I lied and said no If you are flying direct from Brazil they may question you harder, but honestly ur prob fine. ur gonna be baffled as to the visa process upon landing, its pretty lol but very easy

Welp, Cambodia was nice, although pretty anti-climatic. Okay it wasn't that nice, but anything is do-able for awhile. I've been dull - hence the lack of updates. Stayed in Phnom Penh for 5 weeks, then spent another 2 weeks going to snooky and kampot.

Kampot was awesome, just rented a motorcycle for a couple weeks and cruised around everywhere. Stayed at a hostel on the river with all kinds of fun crap setup

called a 'russian swing' at the hostel. Also had little jump off points, ropeswing, ladders in middle of river to jump off, bridge jumping, and we went swimming with water buffalo which was...smelly



Old casino thats now abandoned with an amazing view. Was sooo creepy inside, felt like the scene of whatever zombie killer video game 007 call of duty that people play.

Pics don't do it any justice, but also some amaaaazing caves around Kampot that go so deep and you gotta crawl thru tight spaces to get into whole new series of caves. Had a 6 year old tour guide who just tagged along and kept saying 'watch your head mister, this way mister'.

Also went to some pepper and salt farms. I ****in love spices, was so stoked. Amazing pepper as well. Another city called Kep that is famous for crab was cool for a day. Lost 2 damn phones in cambodia so don't have many pictures.

Didn't party too much which is a shame since its so cheap there with 50 cent beers. Went out with some friends to a karaoke place...god im horrible and try to overcome that by singing louder and in weird voices. Beers were warm so I decide to shotgun everything for the night. Friends were both conservative kids I knew from songkran in pics above who just put ice in their beer and they were bummed when I ordered 3 girls to the karaoke room. girls are $2 each per hour to come hang out...why not!? I got drunker and buddies ended up leaving once I pulled my weiner out and a 6 handed handjob started. I go back home, get my skateboard and money and head to the casino. I tried to drunkenly grab onto a tuktuk but it was going to fast and I slipped out on my ass and head. Both ass cheeks bleeding - no action at casino so I go to strip club and black out. Wake up at noon the next day in the strip club. Phone gone, skateboard gone, have $500 in my pocket. weird. That's the kinda crap that would neverrrrrrrr fly in South America, but even in one of the sketchiest countries in SE asia nothing all that bad happened. Also missed the SN freeroll, so was a solid ~$800+ night and the most expensive/least fulfilling of my life. Ah who knows, maybe I had a great time during the blackout. Life goes on.

Made a songkran video but rushed it because I hate editing and the song I put to it is just off.

Drank a bunch in snooky on solo missions. Really fun as every club is filled with hooks and normal backpackers, so if you strike out then just go dance with a hook for a minute to build confidence back up and get back out there. Bought and smoked way too much weed, missed out on meeting the famous Spiv which I'm mad at myself for...was just high/drunk and forgot to check 2p2.

Vietnam now. Go skateboard day was a blast. Took over the city. Cops pulling out tasers on us trying to kick us out. Won a best trick contest and a millllllion dong! lol. Also won 5 cases of mountain dew, hurray, my favorite nutrient rich beverage. Got 2nd in a game of S.K.A.T.E. I could have shipped, but would have felt like a dick as there was even more money for the winner of that which obv means more to some viet kid. Got offered to be a model in a commercial as well that pays $200 and they need a white skater, so might hit that up if nothing else than to meet some more people.



Met a rad skater chick and have been seeing her a lot lately, but feels like a cocktease. Hang out yesterday and she invites me to family BBQ but I have sunday grind. Seeing her tonight, going to her house tomorrow for dinner with her family...butttt I'm fairly sure she has a boyfriend, who also hangs out with us like half the time but they have never made a single move of affection. No idea how to play it, she invites me to do a bunch of cool stuff so don't want to mess that up. Tinder is blowing up with matches here but haven't even started to hit that up. Vietnam seems cool. I have 1k something vpps on the month and have to start paying a mortgage back home until my mom sells her rental property, fml. Life is fairly awesome atm tho, so no complaints

Alrighty so been in vietnam for a month or so now. ended up getting pretty close to that skater chick, but feel bad and am trying to just let her down easy as its not gonna work. she's a virgin, its actually not possible to stay in a hotel room with a vietnamese girl unless you show them a marriage certificate...so just gave up on the idea of getting anything going with local chicks. flew my thai gf down to cruise around with me for a few weeks and that's been fun - really proud of her for stepping out of her comfort zone. she had to get a passport just to come, has never been out of the country or flown alone, taught her how to swim and jump off small cliffs - just overcoming a lot of fears that a typical sheltered thai chick has.

So I went to Da Nang, Hoi An, and Hue by myself. DaNang blows and is made like 100% for vietnamese tourists, no english, and just kinda weird city. 20 mins away is Hoi An which was so rad. Really cool old school asian kinda feel to the city, as at night they close down the city center to anything but pedestrians and the whole city and river is lit by those chinese lantern things. pics (mine nor google's for once) do it justice as its spread out over like 2km of riverfront with people eating on tops of boats with the kitchen in the lower deck, everyone out and about in the streets, night markets, all illuminated by thousands of lanterns. Cool place - plus fresh beer for like 35 cents everywhere. Nightlife I heard was good there and went to meet my Brazilian buddy from Cambodia, but he ended up meeting a girl and got a hotel with her for his last few days. no harm no foul, he had a great time and I just scoped out the city solo for a couple days.



Had some amazing motorbike rides. Discovered why nobody drives fast here because its just expected that everyone else is an idiot horrible driver. Had my first real moto crash that should have been a head on collision, but I managed to shoot myself into a dirt field. My face broke my fall and everything turned out alright. fun day. Have like 3+ hours of motorbike gopro footage now and will get around to editing and posting it... within the year hopefully? god I hate editing stuff like that. bunch of me racing around mountains and streets too fast, glad all the bikes here top out at 100. Haven't died yet which I'm stoked on, but have slowed down since the accident and having gf with me now.


Viet people are so so terrified of sun. it's **** ridiculous. Pristine beaches are empty all day. but when the sun goes down they get taken over. They also wear hats, gloves, sweaters, sandals+socks, long sleeve, pants...etc when its 90% humidity and 38 degrees outside - and look at me like I'm insane when I ride my motorcycle past them with no shirt on.

Was grinding a lot beginning of the month and have mellowed out a bit since gf got here, but still try to get in a couple hours here and there plus sundays. Met up with her in Nha Trang which is an awesome city. Got an apartment for a week and cooked a lot and saw the sights. Had sex in the longest over-water cable car in Asia, weee. Went to some cool waterfalls, more cliff jumping, beach fun, giant amusement parks, and now we're in DaLat which is awesome but rainy. Might skip on canyoning tours since I don't want to be chilling in cold waterfalls when its rainy and cold outside. bummer, was the #1 thing I was looking forward to doing here but its been raining nonstop.



Headed to Mui Ne soon since gf has never seen the desert, then back to saigon and off to philipenes at end of the month to go play APPT Manila, should be good and looking forward to having a lot of fun there.

Great read! Keep up the good work. If you decide to go back to Dalat definitely do the canyoning and stay at the Dalat Family Hostel, best place I stayed in the whole of asia. Crazy family owns it with mama cooking dinner every night! Getting back out to asia again next week! Cant f'ing wait!

ah cool. yea was just in dalat last week, but was rainy as hell everyday so I decided to skip canyoning. and was with gf who def wouldnt be able to keep up. kind of a shame as that and some cave exploring were the 2 highest priority things on my list to do here, but did some waterfall adventures and being cold in the rain while jumping into even colder waters didn't seem ideal at the time. I did see this ledge on my way into town and made a point to go back and get a trick on it though



thai girls are such camera/selfie whores... they really make great natural skate photographers as well

Haven't been doing much lately. Said goodbye to my thai chick for what's most likely for good. Always odd ending things amicably, but she took everything really well and I'm learning to become more and more honest with my intentions and expectations in these short term relationships. So vietnam was rad but I doubt I would go back. A ton of cool things to see there but prob wouldn't want to live there ever - for a bunch of reasons. They are still growing as a nation and a people from the whole communism thing and reintegration with the world. Met a lot of insanely friendly and accommodating people there.

Moved on to philippenes. Holy balls its awesome here. Played a liveament. Made a guy fold QQ to my 4b jam with 35bb. I had AK and we were kinda close to bubble but still, whatta puss - I was opening ~70% of hands. He FTd obv. Lost QQ < A7ss on J95ss for chiplead with 40 left. another flip and gg. Grinded a bit, partied for like 4 days straight, got to see an old buddy from medellin who lives there now... and took off for Cebu!

Phils is just so damn under-rated imo. People are terrified of it here and good, let's keep it that way. Yes there's trash in the streets if you leave the high-class business neigborhoods. If ur a mark, u prob have a much higher chance of getting robbed. Skate homies out here are so welcoming and hyped to see you. Went to find a skatepark one day and it was closed down. Some guy on a motorcycle saw me and was like 'Hey the park closed years ago, but hop on I'll take you to my friends place, he has a ramp!' Go there and its daytime so I'm the only one skating, but he took a picture of the 'afam' (gringo, falang) and put it on facebook and an hour later a bunch of kids show up like heyyyy what's up man, where you from, let's skate! The white man is kinda toooo respected over here, but I can't complain too much. Food also sucks for anything healthy, but meat is cheap and bountiful.

It's asia where white is right - but I'm so in love with the spanish blood -the darker, curvier, and admittedly more feisty and crazy girls here. It's a good transition back to latin america for me. If I were to come back to asia, I could for sure stay in Thailand where life is just way too easy, Philippines where I feel at home, or indonesia where I keep hearing great things about.

I guess I've been grinding a lot, but also have had the best month of my life so far (its not over yet, so in b4 I jinx myself). Gonna take the next couple weeks off and go island hopping before heading to Uruguay and Brazil for LAPTs. Heard about some cool party and adventure islands so gonna hit those up. If anyone has recommendations please holler at me, right now planning on Bohol, Boracay, maybe Palawan, Siquijor, Bantayan. Def won't be going to all of em, just gonna keep my ears open and see what's good on the way.

Alright, been a minute. So some recap/boring post to catch my life up - Philippines is goddamn amazing. Top 5 country on my list, maybe even higher. Girls are simple, its the only place so far in the world where I'm comfortable just going out solo because people are so friendly and inviting. Vietnam was kinda similar like when you go out to eat people just invite you over - but there's still the huge language barrier and viets are completely harmless - but a bit creepy when they welcome you to come join them to eat at a restaurant because you are alone and then not a single one speaks english. Phils everyone speaks english, and I understand like 10% of their language as well since its spanish based. Had a lot of sex, so much strange. Met up with a 2p2er and cruised around a couple places with him as well for a few weeks. Honestly wish I went to more places while I was there but I mean jesus, there's an easy 15 islands I've heard about that I REALLY want to go to and spend at least 4-5 days, and I'm sure there's 100 more I just haven't heard about yet. Didn't scuba dive while I was there, huge fail for me. Almost went at one place but we did snorkel with turtles and see some reefs, so I skipped diving. Then there was a really cool shipwreck I wanted to dive, but conditions were bad all week and everyday I called and they weren't allowed to go out there. Kind of a major bummer - I need to scuba dive more. Didn't skate much either, but did get in some poker volume and had a great month.

60 hours of travel to uruguay and I got hauled off the airplane in a wheelchair. Had a fever of 41, throat infection, and my knees couldn't walk since I was all shiver cold but hot on all the flights and curled up in a ball/tucked up resting on my knees and they just got ruined. Some free shots and rest at airport clinic and I felt better. Doctor even got my luggage and stamped me through immigration. Nice to be back in latin america again, and saw some friends in Montevideo as well. I didn't cash but was easiest live tourney I've played - just felt super in the zone with no tough decisions. Dropped 1k on a hotel for 5 nights and amayastars wouldn't give me a refund. Sigh. Buddy shipped highroller, awkwardly saw a girl I banged last time I was in town, we ate some nice food with the homies, had weed for the first time in awhile, got my Brazil visa and now I'm in Brazil!! Porto Alegre was my first stop, if only to break up long bus rides. 13th in red spade open after being chiplead from 18 left. Was fairly soul crushing, but didn't tilt at all. A random internet DC makes me go nuts, but MTTs gonna MTT. trips < backdoor flush, JJ < QQ, TT < KK and I'm out. Just blows that a decent score there would have changed some things for me - go home to see grandma and mom and such - but oh well. Keep it moving and grateful to have a run.
Just got into florianopolis a couple hours ago and holy balls I'm gonna like it here, I can tell. Oh butts are like 30% bigger in brazil, so I am so so so so hyped. People are so normal here, it's strange. Every skin color, height, fat people, style. Big skateboard and surf scene, I see a lot of rando guys on the street that have the same style as me...it's just odd to not stick out like a sore thumb like in Asia.

Portuguese is the weirdest language ever, if only because I almost understand every word they say...but really don't understand at all. Reading comprehension is much higher and I'm sure with time I'll get used to the 'B' being a 'V', the 'D' being a 'G', the 'G' being a 'SCHH' and so on. Want to finish the duolingo Portuguese course and see where I'm at from there, but I could see myself spending 1-2 hours a day for the next couple months actively learning this language - opposite of spanish which I learned thru facebooking girls, spanish music/movies, skate friends, and a vocab/verb base from high school. Gonna be working alot for the next month at least. 30k VPPs to get ideally before December when I go to BSOP/LAPT and then my college friend comes to visit and we go to Rio and cruise around Brazil until xmas. Normally wouldn't be that tough but SNGs are fuuuuuuuuuucked and even 30s get super reggy sometimes. Off-peak I should be able to mix in plenty of 60s and 100s though, seems fair as I'm playing insanely overrolled for $15s at the moment.

Didn't really take many pics in phils. Grinding poker and online dating, degen nights, and chilling on the beach was basically all that I did. Had a great day cliff jumping at this place with all you can drink/all you can eat and various levels of cliffjumping. Pretty confident in my flippin skills, although wish I would have tried gainer and backflip off the biggest 10m jump. I was wasted though, and that high gets super squirrelly if you over-rotate anything. Awesome day although wish there were more crazy type kids on the trip, I was the only one flipping around.

gaaadamn I love it here. Has been a relatively boring last 2 months, bounced around florianopolis for the most part, grinding almost daily since it was raining everyday, but the island is pretty damn amazing, had a very california vibe, with skate ramps everywhere and huge surf scene as well. Off-season is super cheap to rent apartments or pousadas at a daily rate, so I did that for a week at a time and moved to various cities throughout the island - and besides the rain I honestly enjoyed every one. All you can eat buffets everywhere for like $5, so I've been used to stuffing my face, then going into a food induced coma/nap. Still less than 60 kgs though, I swear its impossible to get fat.

Had some awkward events - went to a skate contest/concert/graffiti show... it was fun, but hosted by some church founded by reformed druggy surfers - so everyone was really cool, but then we had to pray before skating, and people would constantly be like "ahhhh sick trick man, that was awesome! So have you accepted Jesus Christ into your heart?" lol. I believe that I am Jesus Christ, god, whoever... and so are you - so my viewpoints on that didn't go over very well with them. **** religion.

Another night going out the girls were being all weird about where to go, making sure it was posh enough. We ended up at a nice but mellow rooftop bar. I go downstairs and sh*t is crazy, packed basement style club, so we buy a bottle and go down there. Turns out to be a gay club but whatever, I got hammered, danced around, didn't let anyone touch my wiener. Was told in the morning I had my head out of the cab the whole ride home puking. Didn't get so much volume in for the subsequent Sunday grind, but oh well.

Once it started to get sunny and I finished my VPP grind, switched to a hostel right on the beach with free surfboards, a mini-ramp, swim up pool-bar - and randomly enough even some of the brazilian regs are friends with the owner so come by to drink and hang out. Here's a good overview:

The 'city' in front is barra de lagoa, nice mellow waves, warm water, some nice hikes in the area. Behind that you see a big lake which another cool city is located on with much more nightlife and a bit more modern. Behind that mountain on the left is some really good beaches, more famous for surfing and weekend drinking. From what I hear in peak season, it can take like 2 hours to get from village in front to city on the lake right behind it, so I'm guessing all of florianopolis may just be too much of a ****show during peak times, and better slightly off-season if you can miss out on the rain. Insanely safe, and not just coming from my sketchy ass, but really the entire island is really safe and mellow. Only went out a couple times, hence the lack of updates, but just got to Sao Paulo now for BSOP and LAPT finals. Not gonna be playing much due to 15% taxes, but will fire off a couple events. Headed to Rio next to party with a bunch of friends, so really looking forward to that - then gotta figure out wtf im doing for xmas and NYE. extending my brazil visa until carnaval at least, this place is amazing
