thanks for the bump, but perhaps it isnt necessary. the trip is over, and was a resounding success. it was probably the greatest thing i have done in my life. i wanted to, and am able to, embark for another year of the same, but my wife does not. therefore, we will be moving back in to our house north of seattle within the next week. i will be keeping the rv, with an eye to much more travel. supposedly, wifey and i will be "compromising" with regard to our upcoming lifestyle. i favor her getting a more flexible job or income maker, so that we can travel for at least 1-2 months next year. i hope to find some things here that interest me such as volunteering or more short trips with friends, as i dont want to slip in to the "old rut". regardless, thanks for all the posts in this thread, and im glad to be able to look back on it in the future.

i am doing almost nothing these days, including playing very little poker.

You should join couchsurfing.org

"Hosting is like traveling without leaving home! When I can't travel the world, hosting brings the world to me!"

In my early 20s I spend 9 months traveling the USA, and later several years traveling around Asia, so I completely understand your feelings. Time heals all . . .

I have some friends who did couch surfing and seemed to enjoy it.

Also, you'll surely travel more in the future. The next Indy 500 is just around the corner.

still plugging along, just not on the road. took 3 months off of poker, now back at it. wife is expecting our first, and hoping to allow her the decision to take one or more years off from working.

Wow and 12 days later, Black Friday hits.

OP, I hope the FBI didnt ruin your life. I want to do this by myself in a smaller Class B whenever poker comes back to the states. I am currently in my last year as an 8th grade math teacher. I plan to move to Jamaica and play poker until the FBI gets its **** together then I will come back and become a fulltimer (RVing and poker)

love the thread. they say timing is everything so at least you got it done before black friday. Always wanted to tour america like that playing poker. Maybe do it for a few months travelling from casino to casino instead.

That's actually not a bad idea. Although playing live 1-2 is so slow but I'm sure it could be sustainable on a budget.

I've been back to this life again since December 5. It's "america by rv 2.0" for me, with 2 kids and the same wifey now. No plans to have it "powered by poker" this time, but i started playing daily again in feb, and have been doing great, especially now with poker/covid boom 2.0 happening. playing exclusively on bovada. playing mostly mtt and $500nl fr.

for the past few years, ive played mostly $200 zone 6max, but just for fun. have pretty much been a break even player since about 2014.

if anyone is interested, i could add more details, and a description of our new rig.

Yes please! After seeing this bump, I glanced at the first page and your initial post from all those years ago.

I'm going to read through the thread and try to get ideas and encouragement for bailing out of work and doing something similar.

Would be cool if you were willing to do an AMA-sort of thing. Hopefully reading the thread will answer most of my questions though.
