HI all, i have played on skypoker a bit, and think i have cleared the bonus. I sent an email to bonus support on 2.2.08, but havent received a reply

Following is the email i sent

Hi, i have signed up and played on skypoker for a bit, and believe i would have paid over 2pounds in rake

I joined a month or so ago, but had some major problems with them accepting my credit card from australia, and they kept giving me their wrong telephone number so i couldnt ring them. I hope that if there is a time limit, then this will be taken into acount

My username on the site is doctorpaul1

Kindest regards
Paul Stephens
aka omaha

Just wondering if there is any update, or if i am just being impatient?

Waiting even for two weeks seems reasonable to me. On a semi related note, is there a way to confirm that you've cleared the rake requirement? I like the site in terms of fishy players but really don't want to play on this software more than i have to lol. I sent an e-mail to sky and received this rather confusing reply:

Thank you for your e-mail.

Please be advised that we do not have a rake system at Sky Poker, we however have the following information on your current poker history:

Hands Played 665 etc etc

So, any guesses what that might mean...i'm pretty sure hands are raked, and if not...how are we to generate the rake required?

skypoker are idiots,

when you play, look at the amount of rake taken from each pot, and divide by the number of players dealt cards. THen play until this adds up 2 sterling.

This is only a rough estimate and obv depends if they do the rake on who was dealt cards, or who contributed, but it should get you a rough idea.

I also thought I had cleared the bonus over a month ago. I had made the minimum deposit (30 pounds, which I won't be getting back thanks to Sky's ridiculous cash-out policy) and played for a while. I calculated my MGR which turned out to be well over 2 pounds. I haven't gotten the bonus. It would be EXTREMELY helpful if there was some way to tell how close I am. But nope. I'm really frustrated with this site, and I agree with an above poster that Sky's software is TERRIBLE and I don't want to play any longer than I have to.

I don't recommend anyone do this bonus.

Their software sucks, but so do their players, and i think (but dont quote me on this) that it must be the easiest (perhaps even better than party) to clear.

If there are any others, i would love to know

eg i played on everest, and blew $500 to clear the bonus, which is kinda defeating the purpose of a bonus. But, on party, sky, cd i am way up

It would be the easiest, I'm sure, if we knew how much rake was being taken etc. It's made more 'difficult' than it needs to be because of this confusion. Still don't think anyone here should have problems profiting from the very weak players, unless you go on one tabling induced life-tilt.

Btw, how did you blow $500 Omaha? You only need to play one raked hand at everest to qualify. If you open shoved that one hand, I like your style

Actually, my bad, I suppose you mean the 2+2 and everest cash bonuses Fair enough I guess

It seems so bizarre to me that you wait for more than a day to receive a reply from a site. I play at tigergaming.com and I've never had to wait more than 3 hrs to get a reply form CS. I know when I have enough to have cleared the bonus by means of the POP I accumulate or I just simply go into Live Chat and get an answer within minutes....poker sites need to step it up....its just not possible to make players wait for so long.

'Sky's ridiculous cash-out policy' seems to apply to international bank transfers only.

I sent them an e-mail today asking about their deposit/withdrawal policies as I intend to do this bonus next (credit for Harrington's cash game books ).
With the prospect of a new customer they replied very quickly and told me that there were no charges for debit cards but international bank transfers would incur a fee of up to £30. That certainly is expensive, but I'll deposit the minimum amount directly from my card and hope to withdraw back to it once I've cleared the requirements.

£30 minimum deposit is still less than the price I would have to pay if I bought the Harrington books myself!

Hi,

This thread makes for interesting reading. It seems as if Skypoker is a desirable stop over on a 2+2 book tour, but the flight is turbulent, with bad pilots and a risky landing.

So can anyone answer these questions.

1) Does Skypoker allow you to cash in or out easily with Paypal, MB or Neteller?
2) Whats the rake on the micro limit ring tables?
3) Do they have low stake and rake SNG's?
4) Whats the traffic like?

Any help appreciated as I don't want to land at the wrong airport!

cheers,

1) No, cc or UK bank transfers only IIRC
2) 5% IIRC
3) don't remember
4) pretty terrible. since it's based only in UK, they only have any traffic at all during the peak UK hours. I was playing at around 5am or so UK time, and there was literally like 10 tables running on the entire site, all of them NL cash.

personally the thing i hated most was the software. it is very very slow, and it runs in a browser instead of downloading.

on the plus side, it does have a hilarious preflop hand ranker where it considers hands like J6s playable regardless of position or the action in front of you. i suppose this encourages the fish to play very loose

being in the UK, for me its actually a pretty good site apart from the crummy software! and the hand rater thing if anyone is following that more fish in the sea

I contacted Sky Poker about another matter and they hit me back within an hour or so.

As far as how the site goes, it's about as fishy as it gets - but they are so bad that they become a serous liability and the amount of suckouts is devastating. It's my favourite sports gambling website, but the poker sucks.

Looks like you were notified on the 29th that you could select your books ... let me know if there any further issues.

I used to play on Sky Poker so was just wanting to know if you had to sign up somewhere to be able claim the bonus.
Got to agree about the players not being very good. I used to win decent amounts just playing at the bottom 2 levels but decided i wanted to be able to track my results properly so i moved to a site on the ipoker network and promtply got my ass handed to me.
Needless to say im now re-learning how to play poker.
