Which Site for Tourneys? Which Site for Tourneys?

Hi all,

Im new to online poker and thought oo, the free books looks interesting.

However im now looking at the various offers and they state that you need to deposit a set amount, thats ok. However some also state you need to accumulate so many "site name" points.

I cant seem to work out how I earn points.

Im interested in playing mainly tournements and ive read up on the points and it talks about the rake, and that you earn points from the rake. Is this just on money games as i will only be playing tournements.

Based on this, the fact im only planning on playing tournements which site would you reccomend to use, both to get the books quickest and has the best tournements.

Thanks
Zero

Count Zero,

I think you have to visit the sites individually and click on their 'player points' links to work out how quickly you will accumulate the points (obviously you will need to come back to this site and use the links here to join up tho).

I play mainly SnG's and joined Everest for the free books. It was totally painless - I think you only need to play 1 RH/tournament to be eligible for the books.

Earning their bonus tho, takes a little more work

Now I'm on the lookout for my next site to take advantage of the books offer. I was thinking about Skypoker, but following comments on another thread, I may have to reconsider.

Can anyone else make some recommendations?

I did skypoker in november and it was very easy. If you could put up with their rubbish software and site then it is a good choice IMO

I would agree with Garr that Everest fits your needs. During the first month at least, you will have the sign-up bonus clearing, and this gives you 56% back on the tournaments fees, meaning the effective fees for tournaments are only 4.4% instead of the normal 10% (and even more on other networks for small tournaments).

You can look at Ongame rooms too as the bonus clearing conditions are also generally not bad for tournament players.

Concerning Sky Poker, there is stated "Signup with this bonus offer, make a minimum deposit at £30 and play enough hands to generate a rake of at least £2 (tournament fees do NOT apply) on SkyPoker.com " so you will have to play some cashgame to get the books.

iirc Playboy Poker was sign up and play any real money game (including tournaments)

Cryptologic site, so not too bad, but not my first choice software.
