Hey Amscy,
Welcome to the forums
All true, and rakeback is to be strongly recommended to anyone who sees themselves playing a significant number of hands long term on a site. However, this offer is still very valuable to learning players, ie everyone, and has been a huge help to my game at least.
I have no idea how 2p2 benefit from this and (thinking of the old Everest bonus where you have to deposit $5 and play 1 hand to qualify) in some cases
someone is definitely taking a loss. I suspect it was Everest in that situation lol
What you describe is essentially what I did, I played the majority of my hands on a site where I have a rake back deal, and fulfilled the bonus requirements at my leisure, nothing says we have to stay there forever. Just common sense.
To be honest though, it wasn't a matter of 'there's no way am i gonna let 2p2 get all my rakeback' , 2p2 as an organization deserves it more than rakexxx.com or whatever, rather I was just happy enough where I was and didn't like the other sites enough to change.

Software sucks, tilts the hell out of me in truth, but trust me, the players are much worse
