Hi guys,
this hand happened on day 1 of $550 borgata 1mil gtd this week. I was chip lead on my table with 100k ish, this Asian kid just move to my table, havent play a hand and had around 80k ish, blind 250-500 50ante, there is 1 limper on my right always limps 8/10 hands no matter what he had/position (from suit connector to Js), i was in cut off with Jh9h, raise to 1700k mostlikely to punish the limper, vilivian Asian kid is in the button 3bet to 3k8, back to me, and because of logical thinking he knows i try to steal pot so he can 3b very light there on buton, I decide to 4bet with 6k2 consider a min raise to take the lead on the flop, he called. Flop come AJ6 1 diamond, i lead for 7k5 and he min raise to 15k. I still dont give him credit for A and more likely i have the best hand, I called. Turn is 9 diamond, I check for a check raise shove, he check back behind fail my plan, river is a irrelavant diamond imo, so i shove and get snap called by him with 34dd.
What would you do differently beside folding pf?
i want to shove turn so bad but he block me by min raise flop and im oop, what plan should i do? 3bet flop or shoving turn (when morelikey or not u will get called by better 2 pairs) base on how dry the flop is.
share w me ur opinion!!!!

IMO, with you admitting his range pre was so wide...the $ card on the turn was worth leading out for. Especially with the number of straight and flush draws out there aswell as a weak Ace finding a better 2 pair.

In donkaments IMO checking to check raise is a bad idea, fire away on turn.

I don't play HSMTT but take it fwiw this is just my opinion

Without any reads on your opponent I think playing a leveling war is not the best idea til you have a bit more info on him playing your hand face up is best and since you are so evenly stacked with the opponent I would have been more cautious, also its still probably far from the money ICM decisions dont really apply but with stacks so even i would have tried to win the pot as quickly as possible with no deception. with what happened preflop I'd be putting him on 77+ and all Broadway combos,

Tbh I would have probably folded pre and waited for a better spot it leaves you open to be exploited but without any reads on the new player I think this would have been the best option, as played since you did not give him credit for the A I would have repopped it on the flop over his 15k instead of flat calling because so many more scare cards are left in the deck but as said by someone else checking the turned two pair just leading out would have been better you don't want to give the option for the free card its just very unfortunate that he had one of the few hands that had the most equity on the turn

Since you thought the dude was bluffing from the beginning you should have played it as such and tried to bully him out of the pot instead of letting it get to showdown, especially since you paired up on the flop with so much in the pot already

Other than that its just unlucky that he got there with runner runner diamonds he obviouslymwas done with the hand after the flop

Also sticking with your plan to shove on the river was optimistic only better can call you of, checking is obviously not going to do much since such an aggro player would be betting all bluffs and made hands but maybe (pretending not knowing what villain had) a good sized blocker bet would have been a better option, he probably would have shoved over either a check or blocker bet but could have probably gotten away from it since a turned set might have played it the same way as well as his runner runner diamonds both of which would have been folds, while crippled still alive for the tourney with enough chips to be able to steal losing such a big pot only leaves you with hardly anything left and a lot of people will call wide to knock you out

River action- If you think he has air good % of the time why you jammed? BECAUSE OMG 2 PAIR?

Well i know that on river i most likely only get call by better, beside AK AQ but no way he check turn with that, but then because my plan fail on the turn, what am I gonna do if he jams, i have to call anyway since i cant give him a range that can beat my 2 pairs.
I guess the best move is bet/jams the turn, maybe 4b the flop will slow him down, but we might get in level war and i probably cant take the heat. Folding pf is too weak and this is one of the best level to exploit his range, blind are not too big and my plan def not try to get it in, i want to see how light he 3b me for future reference.

I 4 bet a little larger PF.

Check flop. As played 3bet flop. As played to river, check/call river.
