Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

line check:

pfr is running 27/22 3b 14% over60hands. im 9/5 because i was sitting out for 30minutes.

main villain is 25/20, 3b 8%. his size make me very scared. ages im not playing NL holdem, i see sizes are waaay lower than 2years ago, anyway i dont think its a c/r bluff size. but sets are hard to make and i have some equity vs 2p, so i won't fold. is this wrong?

given i won't fold, i thought 3bet small looks a lot like a bluff and if he had air he would spazz. -> villain played before w/ me, i think he view me as an agressive player. if he was unknow id just call down.

Dealt to Hero A J

fold, fold, fold, fold, MP2 raises to $240, fold, Hero calls $240, fold, BB calls $120

BB checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $420, BB raises to $970, MP2 folds, Hero raises to $2,020, BB raises to $3,070, Hero raises to $4,120, BBfolds

edit: i posted this hand because im pissed for not winning more chips. i think if i flat flop he will fire any turn and river.

500€ sat to Grand Final on lol.fr, so far both villains seem like they know what they are doing, both have taggish stats, BB is more on the aggro side.

Wednesday 320, I lateregged and have been at the table for under an orbit and haven't played a hand. The table is extremely soft, I only recognize Halfrek and 1 other name. Do people like 3b shoving here or is it -ev/too marginal pre ante.

What do you think about villains setmine after the IR calls?

edit: I think his first call was horrible but the 2nd one is closer imo

pretty gross the first time for sure.

the second time he is putting 3k in. he needs to average roughly a 30k payoff when he flops a set to be profitable (8-1 to flop it, and he will sometimes lose when does). There is 10k in the pot already, so he needs to average getting 20k in postflop. He only has 24k total, so he is going to have to double up 83% of the time, or get both of you to put some money in. So it depends on how heavily you guys' ranges are weighted to big pairs, and how frequently you will stack off with them.

    1k Live. Blinds 150/300 25 ante.

    Hero (30k) is in EP and raises to 750, CO (15k) 3bets to 2.2k, BTN (40k) 4bets to ~5k.

What's the best hand you'd fold here?

Hero is likely viewed by CO as tag.
CO is a very straightforward tag, hasn't mixed it up at all that I've seen so far. He fist pumped when he won a flip early on, this tourney seems like a very big deal for him.
BTN is new to the table, white male in his 20s/30s.

Halfrek likes the raise button and he probably needs to fold like 50% of the time for a jam to break even. shrug

      Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

Couple quick preflop spots from the Borgata 1k

      Hand #1:

Middle aged Russian guy, has been fairly active, not afraid to put chips in, but not super insane either, opens to 3,300 at 600/1200 from UTG+1. He starts the hand with 45k. Good young LAG who has been playing about 60% of pots, and running the table over, flats the button with 150k. I have 90k and AJo in the BB. Fold, call or 3b/fold? If we 3b, what sizing? I've been tight with opens but have 3bet a decent amount at this table. Fairly confident the Russian will jam JJ/AK to my 3bet, not sure what he does with AQ or TT.

      Hand #2:

24 left and 18 pay. Avg stack 125k. Fairly spewy, splashy live regfish who likes to fistpump and hi-five his friends when he sucks out for a big pot, opens to 7k at 1k/2k, starting the hand with 75k from the HJ. Same good LAG from hand 1 3bets to 20.5k (he has 200k). I have TT in the BB and 102k. I have a reasonably strong read that the LAG has a hand he's getting it in with vs the splashy guy. Table is pretty soft overall. Fold or jam?

more important question: doorbell rings I answer bc no one else is home. 3 kids and some guy are there, one kid says in a very creepy voice: "did you know that god has an awesome plan for your life?" The guy kind of chuckles and says "uh yeah he really does". What do I do? Does your answer change if I don't currently have 10 tables beeping at me in the next room?

sick spot, i think AJ is the bottom of our calling range here. the raise on turn makes small sence after checking flop. maybe is an idiot with 1010 JJ but anyway press call button imo but really dont know which hand i will see, hope to see Jxhh.i think he was cbetting flop with QK almost allways...

        Re: ***HSMTT QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***

        UKIPT Day 1b

        Full table at 150/300
        UTG+1 has 16k
        surindar has 22k
        I cover

UTG +1 opens for 800 and Surindar Sunar flats in the HJ , I am in SB with QQ and raise to 2050( to small i know now) utg folds and surindar flats again(why wouldnt he as he has odds to call everything he flatted 1st time).
        Flop A79 rainbow
Surindar chk calls my cbet of 2550
        Turn A
        Chk ,Chk
River is a blank and Surindar fires for 3300 into a 10-11k pot.
I feel that a/my hand is quite face up but b/wouldn't he want a bit more value if he had an A.?
Just feel after thinking about it that i shudda called.
        Thx for replies
