Ok, so this is from a live tournament I went and played in Budapest, and I dont play a ton of live so im not as used to when tables are like this:
It's the final table, first place has about 900k, Im in 2nd with 760k and 3rd is probably somewhere around 600ish (total Tchips = 3,800,000).
The table was veryyy passive except for the chip leader who seemed to have some kind of grasp on aggression, but we stayed out of each others way for the most part.
Blinds ( 25k / 50k ) , NO ANTE
Hero: Q8o , I raise 125k from the CO (big stack is on the button), it all folds to the BB who then quickly shoves making it 255k more for me to win 530k.
So a couple of notes/reads, I had played with him for the past 3 hrs or so at the final 2 tables, for the past 1.5 - 2 hrs I have raised EVERY one of his blinds (he was 2 to the left of me) where I was the first to open, and he has never played back... (this is from 7 handed, 14 left) to the FT. But I did play a few pots with him earlier, and he normally was only playing VERY strong hands and kind of had a tell that he would quickly/reluctantly call with mediocre cards and fold to cbets quite often, but when he had a big hand he would tank, and act, etc. he did this with JJ on a J 4 2 board, and in a few other spots preflop.
So because of this 'read' I had on him, when he quickly verbally declared all in, I was pretty sure I could eliminate or at least lessen the upper part of his range, QQ-AA, and maybe AK, but that still leaves a ton of Ax's, QK, KJ, and like 66-JJ. Losing this pot will bring me to a little below average stack (average was like 500k I think) and probably take away what little respect I did have, is this a spot I should be throwing away easily because of chip / table position, or are the odds good enough to call regardless?
