Not really. Usually you're allowed to buyin at the same level of the biggest stack of the table, but in practice, you can seat with the stack amount you want.

For example, at the dealer choice table, witch is LOOSE, after 3 or 4 hours of game, people buyin between 300 to 3000 !!!

At PLO 2/4, it depends .... But recently, the Club has open a "sort of bobby's room" where more money is on the table ...

I assume this is is not the case anymore or you just boycott the partouche casinos? ;-)

Does anyone have info about casinos like amneville, deauville?

are there any pokerrooms in eastern france? (nancy, dijon, lyon, grenoble,...?)

thanks in advance!

Havnt played in a French casino in a while, but I did spend numerous hours at Deauville several years ago.

Here's the thing: you need to call the casinos. Tables are not running regularly, except yeah maybe on Fridays and Weekends.
Even then, tables at Deauville a few years ago would start only late afternoon and run to say maybe 1am or 2am max.

Hence the playing time windows are kinda narrow.

Lowest limits were like 2-4 if I remember correctly, then 5-5.

Google Partouche and Barrière casino's websites, find the casinos, check out the poker pages and call em up.

Cheers,

hi, I will be visiting Paris in Aug. for a week. Thank you for all the information posted here about the three remaining poker clubs in Paris. I do have a question about bringing U.S. dollars into the casinos. Do I need to have all the buy-ins in Euro before I go in or do they have a window where I can convert there? I remember in some European casinos, if I bring them the conversion receipt after the game, they will exchange the buy-in amount back at the same exchange rate when I am leaving. Do any of the Parisian poker clubs do that? Thanks.

Hello,
as far I know you can only do change in Aviation Club de France. I do not remember about the rate but I don't think they are the same in two ways. Maybe you can gie them a phonecall.

In the to other Club, you'll need Euros.

Regards

Ya definily buy euros from your bank, you should get a better rate.

Planning on possibly visiting a friend in Paris, with a poker tournament in mind. Anybody got any recommendations for some smallish tournaments in February-April?

Hello,
I'll only talk about Cercle Cadet because this is the poker room I know the best in paris.

The tournament schedule can be found here : Cercle Cadet

It's in french, but I'm sure you can understand.

See you ...

I have only played a couple sessions in Wagram (Paris) in my life, so no infos for Cannes but from what i read in South of France (so in casinos and not "cercles de jeux" like Aviation Club de France in Paris), rake seems to be 4% uncapped (i remember reading Robl whine on a thread on 2+2 like 2 or 3 years ago about that because he wanted to play 50 100 during the Partouche Poker Tour)

I have read that some casinos that will offer PLO (don't know if it's for Partouche or Barrière casinos) will put the rake to 2% (still uncapped).

But yeah what i read (don't know if that changed lately) rake seems to be 4% uncapped in NLHE and 2% in PLO.
No entry fees in casinos (only applies for cercles de jeux in Paris)

Where i played i think the drinks weren't offered (but it was really cheap 1 or 2€ for a coke), contrary to Aviation club where you can get free soft drinks imo (like a coke, but yeah i also read on french forums that it was recommended, - don't know if that means mandatory - to tip a 2€ chip, the smallest one since the game is 2-2€ to the waitress.

You will probably won't have a huge offer of tournaments (not that many tables running, probably not as profitable rake wise for them as CG.

Go there http://www.lucienbarriere.com/fr/Cas...ierePoker.html and on the bottom right corner there is a "Choisissez votre casino" (choose your casino) click on the right one on the map and they will show next donkaments coming

I Copy/paste for you
(i clicked on the right casino, and you can see on the left the donkaments coming, you just have to click on the points/buttons on the bottom center at the page to show different days of their tournament calendar)

I played at Casino de Nice - Ruhl last weekend. When I got there at about 8:30pm, there was only one table of poker (NLHE) just starting. It was a Saturday and I stayed for about 2.5 hours and no other tables opened up, although the one I was at filled up. It was 5/5 euro with a min buy-in of 250.

The level of play was pretty low, which was nice, but there was a 4% uncapped rake which probably makes the game unbeatable in the long run.

Something else that takes a bit of getting used to is that the rake is rounded to 0.50. That means there is a lot of change floating around the table. This is made worse by many players keeping dirty stacks. It's not too big of a problem, because it's easy enough to see the 100s and 20s. However, I did mess up my bet sizing once because of it.

Overall, I had a good time when I went. The players and staff were friendly, and they were accommodating to people whose French isn't exactly up to snuff. It doesn't hurt I booked a small win either.

Bon ci tu as passé un agréable séjour en France c'est super , il faut avouer que le poker Français n'est pas le grand poker Américain et que les enjeux sont plus bas aux tables par la même le niveau aussi . Mais la côte d'Azur c'est tellement beau.....

Thanks for the nice information Jon!

I'm going to be flying into Nice on monday and I'm looking to play some poker however I don't feel comfortable playing 5/5 because I do not have much experience playing live poker.

Do you know of any other Casinos that offer NLHE and have lower stakes? 1/2 or 2/4 would be ideal!

Looking for the best spot to play, with cheap membership fee(if any) as I'll only be staying for a week.

Thanks in advance for any help.
