I would like to stay in France for 3 months, but I would need to be playing some poker during my stay to make it work. As an American, it doesn't look like getting set up to play on the French licensed networks is feasible because I don't have an EU bank account.

Someone told me that cash games in Nice, particularly 2/4€ are quite fishy, but that info doesn't seem to coincide with gnomas' report above. Is the live poker landscape still pretty bleak in France unless you know of some home games?

Is there poker in Cassis (Casino de Cassis) or Nice? Anywhere near there (Marseilles)?

Not heading there until April, but would love to know where to stay.
