Sorry for the late reply. It's subtle but you do a little dip as you break from the pause to start the ascent. Try to stay completely stationary in the bottom position and just drive up when it's time. It's not an exercise for using momentum to lift more weight; it's an exercise for keeping everything as tight as possible in the most compromised position of the squat. All that said, on repeat viewing it looks like I overstated things. You're staying pretty tight, you just do the aforementioned dip.

Ehh, I assume I'll be posting fewer videos, especially since I'm not logging as frequently now b/c screwing around with the videos takes too long.

Also, congrats and best wishes with #2 on the way.
Thanks!

Yeah, I have noticed the dip too and am trying to not do it but keep doing it anyway. It certainly feels like I'm tight but there is some kind of hitch or something that causes the dip - I have a feeling something may be somewhat off in my squat, like am too far forward, or not far forward enough or something, causing me to want to shift the bar before I start the ascent.

I've been lifting, just not logging. Haven't missed any lifting days since I started again in (I think) November, except after my nose surgery.

Also had another daughter Friday. Everyone is healthy and strong!

Done with MLYLT, maybe the hero we been looking for, has been here all along.

Lolol. Thanks!

192, no noods, def dadbod. I should probably measure my waist or something. It's unclear to me via barbell medicine podcasts whether I really should gain weight or lose weight or maintain. I kind of want to just maintain. Losing weight may be quite painful given my current circumstances but at some point it will probably be necessary.

I listened to The Prince of Nothing on audiobook. Was good. Started The Judging Eye but it isn't as good. The Kelmonas and Esmenet POV chapters are pretty unlistenable, I mostly just daze off during them and tune back in when the book moves on. The other ones are fine.

I hate to break it to you, but serious chess, lifting, and two tiny kids is way too much. Something has got to give. Even Monte would have a tough time juggling all of that.

Is it because of different readers?

Thanks!

Not to mention that the company I work for is a mess. The owner has significant cash flow issues the last 6 months and (for example) our development team hasn't been paid in a couple of months (well, technically they've received money, just very small installments that doesn't move the needle). Just got a message that they will start randomly shutting down hosting accounts of our clients soon unless payments get back on track.

Not to mention I'm a paycheck behind and the last one I got is semi-illegible and I'm having issues depositing it.

3 year old is also digging in hard during bedtime routine and morning routine. My wife can be stubborn, I can be stubborn, but geez, she is impressive sometimes.

Ok, now to lift and get some dedicated chess study in today. EZ PZ, yeah?

Melk,

Also, on your side is that I was supposed to lift yesterday - 3 year old was at grandparent's house almost all day. Ended up taking a 3 hour nap, managing dog, assisting with newborn and didn't lift.

However, I think what you're really trying to do is just motivate me to stay on MY PURPOISE and CBP out of control. see u

Yugo,

I wouldn't call what you're doing "work". If you aren't getting paid, the word for that is volunteer. I'd go in, ask to be paid immediately and in full and if this was not what happens, I'd pack my **** then head to an attorney to discuss my options.

I have never had a job either, so YMMV. Seems like a stable check is somewhat of a necessity for you.

Huge arms for dadbod btw.

If it got to that point probably best to ask to be laid off and get unemployment while looking for new job. It seems once lawyers get involved In this type of situations no one wins but the lawyers.

Probably what the owner needs to do is get as much free work from this development team as possible and then move on and hire a new one to not pay.

It is a small company and I'm the only actual employee. He is a paycheck behind but, tbh, I'm not sure how illegal that is since from what I gather the law on time of paycheck payment is not as hard and fast as I'd assume. I can float the paycheck, it's just not great obv. He makes it a point to pay me but has missed one before and it was a few months until he made it up fully.

Being laid off is no sort of option. Why in the world would the owner do that?

I can quit any time I want of course but not ready or willing to do that. On paper, I'm getting paid for not too much actual work. But the whole situation is not great anyway. My plan has been to stick it out and see what happens. Just wish the owner could get his **** together somewhat while I stick it out .
