Looks like you're moving some real weight

Based on how things are moving, full Bridge by next month seems likely, right?

Thanks! I feel pretty good and pretty strong. Neck isn't any worse but not any better from yesterday.

I probably should start recording some sets but I prefer having music on my work sets and apparently am too lazy to listen to music on something other than my phone, use a camera to record instead of my phone, or record via some app where the music keeps playing.

I imagine I'll move to the Bridge sometime this month. I'm sure starting it right now would be more than fine but we'll see how Squat and DL go the next session or two.

Session #21
LBBS 260x5x3 RPE@9

Bench 195x1 @9.5 - not sure why but the press plugin #s based off of my last 5x3 sessions are not working at all for me so I kept adjusting down. Probably doesn't really matter since I doubt I'll be on linear progression for much longer.

165x4 @9, 160x4 @9, 155x5x3@8.5

DL 315x5 RPE@9 - I used straps for this but am not used to the setup and this moved slow on all reps.

OHP 90x8@9.5, 85x7@9, 75x8x2@9

SRPE: 7 - I'm using 6 as challenging and 7 as hard for future reference. I guess 8 is very hard and 9 would be exhausted and 10 would be "wrecked". Honestly it's weird many of the SRPE charts have 6 as hard and everything above as different amounts of hard. Not sure how to differentiate that way lol.

LBBS 270x5x3 RPE@9.5 - I have video(s) of this, will try to remember to post tomorrow

Bench 180x1 @8, 155x5x5@8

DL 325x5 RPE@9 - Felt like I was going to throw up after being bent over putting on the straps. Probably an okay idea to just practice more sets with straps. Maybe on the bridge there will be more than 1 DL work set a week and I can get more in.

On some spreadsheet that hasn't been updated in several years it says I did 290x4. Pretty sure I've never squatted more weight than that.

I don't think I'm really very close to real PRs on anything but I haven't lifted heavier than roughly my current levels in years (and not at all for squat). I'm kind of at the point where something happens and I detrain or make no progress or something like that.

Do either of you have any general thoughts of whether I should stick to linear progression for a few more sessions or just switch to The Bridge next session?

The more I think about it the more I think switching makes the most sense. LP has been great for compliance but my workouts are not 50-60 minutes any longer and my intensity is pretty high to actually hit the progression.

Time to switch imo.

I think that your faith in the efficacy of the program is one of the most important factors in deciding what program to do. Do what you think will result in the highest training compliance, something that is fun and, above all, something that you believe will work well.

Renton - I totally agree, excited to do a "real" program that isn't 5/3/1 or RPT or Cha's heavy doubles program or DFII's program.

Does The Bridge 1.0 have you work up to singles @8 before your work sets, or is that for the later versions?

I think it does just not til week 3 or 4.

I think it does later in the program. Not sure if 2.0 or 3.0 start with that earlier or not. I can definitely see why the program does end up calling for it, it's very difficult to figure out what is an "@7" or even an "@8" with a 5 rep set. Although as I do this more I'll likely get better at being consistent and judging it.

My sinuses are fairly clogged up and such - this felt hard overall and it took quite a while to do. Maybe a day I would have skipped just a couple of months ago but I was pretty much able to hit the set intensity for poundage I was thinking of going in.
