CGBP - realization - 10s

140x14. Happy with this on a cut but lol volume. We'll see what happens at the 3s this cycle.

LBBS - at home

225x2
245x2x5 — Only really happy with right knee on the first double. The weight really doesn't seem too heavy if I could just keep my right knee out.

box squats — 135x3x8 — really happy with a couple of these sets. The others weren't as good. I'm now setting up a "box" two planks thick and it makes my legs go out a bit far when straddling so that's why my knees aren't out perfectly on every set. But I think reaching a bit may be good b/c it will force me to get my knees out even further, which my right knee probably needs to get used to doing.

Bench - realization - 10s

150x16 — this is a fairly "massive" PR considering I'm on a cut but maybe I did 140 instead? The bar, while not perfectly horizontal was much, much better in the past and felt much better than it has in the past. Still surprised at being able to get 16.

2/1 log

DL - accumulation - 10s

240x5x8 (75 second rest) — very tough for the last couple/few sets

Block pulls 315x3x5 — also very tough. On my first set my mid back def rounded more than I'd like but I was able to fix it pretty well for the other reps. Glad I was videoing.

Boring. More videos of your wife and/or steroid discussion please.

In other news just finished the second book in the Prince of Nothing trilogy. Stayed up to 2 am last night to finish it. Haven't been that into finishing a book since my first run through the Malazan Book of Fallen series.

This series actually reminds me a lot of Dune stylistically (except Dune doesn't have all the graffic sex stuff this series does). I seriously think you should find an audio version of the complete first book and give it another go around. It really is great.

Man I really remember disliking Dune. Seemed so boring and drawn out. But maybe I can give it another go.

QB,
is the prince of nothing series definitely concluded?

I need to get a kindle already. Paper books are fine and all, but the ease of use of a kindle is so worth it.

The prince of nothing trilogy has been finished for a long time. However, he then has a second trilogy that takes place right afterwards. I think that is supposed to be a trilogy anyway. He has written 2 books for that. It's not as good imo as PON and feels different in certain ways.

You definitely shouldn't wait on PON until he gets further with that, you can always just stop at the first trilogy until the next one is done if you want or keep forging ahead if you can't help yourself.

I just got a Kindle paperwhite yesterday (since my tablet got stolen and I mainly used it for reading). Man, it really works well and most of the books I read from the library I have in ebook format. Can't wait until tonight when I can keep reading .

CGBP - accumulation - 8s

120x5x8 — bar was all sorts of uneven. last two sets were the best, though.

Pullups bw x 6x10

CGFP 155x3x5 — first set super uneven, next few much better, last one not great. Video of these really show that my left side is weaker at keeping things locked in, which I think def contributes to fixing the uneven bar.

Excellent, thanks. Will definitely probably stop after the first trilogy.

Thinking of getting the kindle voyager cause WHAT IF IT'S LIKE INFINITELY BETTER!!?!?!??? Not kidding either. Either way a dedicated e-reader is a must if you read much at all imo. At least for an old like me using a regular tablet feels like squatting in squishy shoes in comparison.

Voyager seemed almost exactly the same to me. Has more PPI but I couldn't tell the difference in person and the light auto adjusts I guess. Didn't try that out. I think those were the major things for $100 more. Meh. Already balling with a dedicated eReader imo.

You tried both in person? Yeah I figure I'll probably be plenty happy with the paperwhite alone. And difference is more like $150 here.

I had a regular kindle. Lost it and have been using an iPad for the last year or so. I just switched the background setting to basically paper white and is fine. Also, I looked at the reviews for the second series and is not as good as the first one so I will probably move onto another series after I finish Prince of Nothing.

I went to Bestbuy — you can Google that since it's not French and you probably have a hard time imagining it — and they had a display with both of them there. I mean, the voyager really seemed almost exactly the same. The jump from non-paperwhite to paperwhite to me is pretty big, the PPI helps but having a light on the tablet is a big deal since I like to read before bed and in the dark a bunch of the time. So that was easily worth the $40 or whatever jump (~$60 in France I'm sure).

But, you ball till you fall so get whatever you want man .

QB — I was reading on a tablet but I do think I like kindle "e-ink" or whatever better. Plus it's lighter, and better since I was spending 90% of my time on the tablet reading anyway.

And as I've been saying, yes the 2nd series isn't as good but it is a continuation so at some point you may want to get into it just to see what happens. Imo the biggest "problem" with the 2nd series (and this starts to happen at the end of the 1st series) is that I think the main character becomes too difficult to write from first person so the author just does it less and less and then stops. That's one thing that makes the first series super good imo, all the parts from Kellus' (Khellus?) POV are kind of insane from a writing standpoint.

LBBS at home

225x2, 250x2x5. I was only happy with the first rep on the second set. All other reps were not great. Very hard to tell if there is real progress or not. Cha claims there is/was. I do think I have a bit more external rotation in my right leg from mobility stuff the last couple of weeks but I dno, the supporting stuff on that side just seems weak. I've been trying to target it and make it go out for months now squatting and it seems barely stronger.

Box squats 135x3x8 - all reps in the 4 sets I videoed were good to quite good imo given my wide stance.

Btw life sucks. Wife lifted with me (hadn't lifted in a week due to medical reasons and hasn't lifted heavy in a couple of months due to other reasons) and it was a ****storm. Had to do most of the workout not talking with each other. Every day since the break-in is going over the same **ing issues that I don't want to talk about anymore. I just repeat myself over and over again and then at some point get frustrated, am emphatic/get a bit louder then it turns into ****. The break-in isn't the main cause of pain it's just the anvil that broke the camel's back so to speak. ****ing hell. Now I know why everyone drinks the hard stuff and is turning to meditation. No feels is good feels.

I guess I'll stop vaguebooking. Last year after going off birth control my wife likely become just generally depressed or not her normal self. It took us a few months to realize things weren't "normal" and then a few more months before she started feeling more normal. In the meantime, stressful stuff such as new house, lots of ppl at her job got let go, her hours got cut and then she transitioned to a new job.

All while trying to get pregnant (we severely mistimed things for many months b/c her cycle was suuuper inconsistent, likely due to going off birth control). Well, she got pregnant a couple of months ago but 2 weeks ago we found out the embryo stopped growing and she'd likely have a miscarriage. Both of us knew that miscarriages are relatively common but weren't really prepared for how emotional it can be anyway (not to mention frustrating and annoying in general).

So last week she had another ultrasound to confirm the embryo wasn't growing, which was confirmed, and then took drugs over the weekend to try and accelerate the miscarriage (it's pretty painful to wait b/c you don't know when it will happen, imagine spending up to 6 weeks knowing at some point you will likely get extremely ill, possibly without warning). She was picking up the drugs (both of us barely made it through the week without melting down) when I came home and saw we had been burglarized. She complete freaked out which was scary and sad to see. But anyway, that was temporary. To add to all of this, it seems the drugs may not have worked (they are supposed to work 90%+ of the time). She's trying not to worry about that until the beginning of next month but the whole thing has been super rigged so far.

Since then life has been much more difficult, for both of us but especially her. It just feels like everything is crap and nothing will get better. Very evening is her trying to get a grip on all the emotions she's bottled up to get through work during the day. A big part of me just wants to ignore it all and turtle up but at the same time, I know just letting time pass will help in some ways, I still need to process what we're going through.

tl;dr cliffs: life can be super rigged and really suck sometimes

Btw, thanks for what really does feel like heartfelt support. This forum gets pretty snarky at times but I finally just felt I might feel a bit better to write it all done given that everyone seems to have my back.

Miscarriages WAY more common than most think - I saw 10-25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage. There are 5 or 6 in my close circle of family/friends that I know of.

My advice: look at the positive things you have. Roof over your heads that you're in process of owning (I know firsthand it's cold in upper Midwest), each other, family/friends, jobs that allow you to live a life not many can.

You're going thru some of the unfortunate life experiences that you will grow from.

Trust me when I say, while you're wading thru some s#%& right now it should get better. There are many, many here in usa#1 that run into a vicious life cycle learned at an early age and only know one way to live as they get older. I've been exposed to things in the last 6 months that helped me gain perspective and realize how fortunate I have it.

Man, that's terrible
All the dominoes falling.

My wife's 1st pregnancy was anembryonic (not sure if that's the same thing as what you guys have/had).
Confirmed bad times.

All the best, let the time to do it's magic and I'm sure you'll get over it and sooner or later you'll be physically and physiologically ready to try to get pregnant again.
