Is Megapixel/shoots at 4x whatever just a sample of multiplying the image? For example if it takes a native picture at 600x600 and multiplies Length and width by 15 is it now considered a 99999MP camera?

Too bad you didn't also inherit the benching gene along with the above average vertical jump gene. It seems like I have known a bunch of black dudes who barely even lift and then rep out two plates like it's nothing.

This is occaisonally a complicated question but for the most part, no, cameras don't do this, if a camera says it's 20 megapixels it's probably producing something near that with it's sensor, not producing something smaller and enlarging it.

Some cameras do offer digital zoom, which is really just taking the bits of image in the middle of the sensor and enlarging them. It's obviously a pointless feature, you can get the exact same thing yourself by cropping.

Also, newbs drool over how much zooming in they can get, but really, it's not a terribly useful feature on a camera outside of like sports photography. I have a few long zoom lenses, I almost never use them.

Because there are a lot of external factors that measure quality. Keep in mind that a sensor is really an analog-to-digital convertor, at their core the sensors are analog, you take a sample, amplify it, convert to digital.

If your sensor is tiny, you can still make a whatever by whatever image out of it, but it won't be as high of a quality as with a larger sensor. If your amplifiers are noisy, your image will be noisy. If your lens is ****, who cares how many pixels there are, getting a high quality capture of a ****ty image will look ****ty.

There probably are SOME cameras where the megapixels are an outright lie but I wouldn't expect to see that on a major brand camera.

Does a 5-11 guy touching rim really constitute above average jumping genetics? I know most of us are unathletic nerds, but this is still setting the bar pretty low.

I'm not sure how old Nuggetz is, but if he is around 30 and can *grab* the rim at 5"11, that's certainly above average.
