you wrote at the beginning that you tried to have fruits and it didn't work because you were never satisfied. I found a good explanation:
Normally if you eat something, especially Dr. pepper = sugar (glucose!), you get insulin increase which stimulates leptin secretion. And leptin signals to your brain: "Life is good. Enough fat there."
Fruits have fructose, which differently to dr. Pepper does not trigger insulin release.
