The end of the year is very busy this time and I can't seem to find motivation to stick to any weightloss plan.
December 16th:
bodyweight
(7 day average): 87,1kg (+1,6)

At least I could finde the time to lift some weights:
December 17th:
squat:
92,5kgx5,5,10
OHP: 42,5kgx5,5,8
deadlift: 95kgx9

Setting fewer goals

Seriously, I feel that I was stressed out by having goals in running, weightloss and weightlifting at the same time. As I am registered for the Berlin marathon in September, I think that maybe finishing that will be my only goal for next year. I'll think about it after Christmas.

It's been a while since I've updated this thread and things haven't been going to well. My weight was around 90kg around Christmas, which I would have been fine with, but January has been brutal personally and at my job. I got sick again, our dog has caught giardia which gave it diarrhea in a really bad way.

January is also rather stressful at my job, so I didn't do any weightlifting and am pretty surprised I finished in 12 runs that totalled 89km. Unfortunately none of them was longer than 8km. My weight has ballooned up to the mid-nineties by now.

I had already registered for a half-marathon on April 7th before Christmas, but I am not sure I'll make it. I'll try to increase distance in February and decide in early March whether I'll try to switch to the 10k they do at the same event.

I'll keept this thread updated with running workouts again.

Looking forward to it! Any plans for the weight?

Not really. As I said, my overall approach this year is to set one goal at a time. So that is to get to running 4-5 times a week. As long as that keeps my weight in check (which it seems to), I'll be fine. Unfortunately I'll leave for a trip where running will be rather difficult on Tuesday, so I guess I'll only be able to run three times next week, but after that, my schedule should be easier until the summer.

Anyway, February 2nd:
easy run:
60min 8,01km 7:28min/km
avgHR: 141

February 3rd:
run:
60min 8,26km 7:16min/km
avgHR: 163
This was the first time this year, where I didn't just run, but focussed on the speed. Tried to stay below a pace of 7:30min/km. Heartrate seems a little high. didn't seem that stressful.

So the plan of updating more regularly didn't work out due to not much being there to update about. I ran on a treadmill for 45 minutes on my trip and even did a few sets of light squat/OHP/deadlift, but when I got back, I first had a migraine attack and then a cold again. It was nothing major, but until yesterday I felt like too much physical activity would just make it last longer, so I only did some light biking a few times. Today was the first day I tried to run again.

February 24th:
run:
8km 59:39 7:27min/km
avgHR: 153
I'll try to run 4 times next week and then increase the long run by 2-2,5km each week. That way I would barely be able to run the half-marathon I think. I'll try to treat it as a slightly faster long run instead of a race. Hope at least that will work out.

February 26th:
run:
8km 1:01:17 7:39min/km

Legs felt a little heafy in the middle of the run, but all in all it was a relaxing run.

Went a little faster today as I had an appointment after running.

Meant to go running twice this weekend, but had a headache yesterday. So I added one extra km to my plan:

long run: 11km 1:21:52 7:26min/km
avgHR: 151 elevation gain: 62m

My computer system crashed and I had to work on resetting stuff, so no updates in a while, but I have been active:

March 9th: run 6,7km50:43 7:34min/km
avgHR 142

March 10th: long run:
13km 1:41:38 7:49 min/km
avgHR 161

March 12th: run: 7,5km 54:44 7:18min/km
avgHR 156 elevation gain: 65m

March 14th: run:
7km 50:22 7:10min/km
avghR 142 elevation gain 34m

March 15th: swim:
1000m 38:03min (every fourth lane crawl, rest breaststroke)
I don't intend to use this as a regular part of my training, but it was my son's swimming lesson, so I thought I might as well get some activity in there instead of just sitting in the cafeteria of the pool and wait.

Some very strange reading for heartrate. I don't look at it while running anyway, so I guess seems to be a problem of my watch, but not a problem worth spending a lot of money on.

My plan is to run another long run and a shorter one this weekend.

March 16th: long run: 1:55h ~15,5km 7:27min/km

Hadn't checked the battery status of my gps watch before running and it shut off after 12km. The pace and heartrate are up to that point. The rest is guesswork.

My gps-watch started acting up in the second half, and so most of the data are useless, but pace for the first half was ~7:30 and that should make for a little more than 17km.

I haven't updated this thread in a while. First I had another cold and as I am mainly a politics lurker, I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to continue this thread or move with the politics forum. I think I'll keep this one as long as there is no permanent site for the former politics forum, then I'll see what I'll do.

So here it is:
April 15th:
run:
8,26km 59:13 7:10min/km

April 17th:
run:
6,76km 49:59 7:23min/km

April 19th:
run:
6,9km 51:49 7:31min/km

April 21st:
run:
8km 54:16 6:47min/km
avgHR: 158

April 25th:
run:
8km 58:56 7:22min/km
avgHR: 160

April 27th:
run:
8km 57:45 7:13min/km
avgHR: 149

April 28th:
run:
8km 59:13 7:24min/km
avgHR: 145

April 30th:
run:
6km 38:39 6:26min/km
avgHR: 153

May 1st:
run:
8km 57:09 7:08min/km
avgHR: 146

My gps watch was broken, so I used an app for the first three runs here and then got a new watch. I tried to play around with my speed a little. My 18 week marathon plan begins in the last week of May.

I like the runs on April 27th until now. I can easily label each one and their purpose.

Good, because I am not sure I can

May 4th:
run:
8km 57:25 7:10min/km
avgHR: 141

May 5th:
run:
8km 55:35 6:57min/km
avgHR: 151

Unfortunately I had some minor surgery (removal of a fibroma in my groin) done on Tuesday, so I had to skip all physical activity at least for a week.
